I’m about to pull the trigger on one too. I do not intend to skid on it but do go places where I probably will hit it. Beat the crap out of my 4Runner’s without intending too. So I want more than the thin one that came on the truck. I go off road for hiking, exploring, and camping but nothing too hard; I don’t have the mods or mechanical expertise to do the mods.

Right now I’m comparing the TRD pro OEM and the RCI. OEM tucks under the truck really nicely, RCI is probably more rugged and I can get it in black. I have the RCI sliders so I’m leaning toward RCI (15% off right now).

I have the OTT now. Originally had the KD Max which I thought was satisfactory like 6/10. Did the OTT and HUGE difference from my standpoint like I can be doing 80 or 90 on the fwy with no problem. Truck totally feels different for me

I agree super hard with this. Went from the KDmax to the OTT what a huge freaking difference. The OTT is leaps and bounds better.

Finally got around to installing the external antenna for the weboost. I have the overland model with the adjustable/folding mount which is very nice and holds the antenna firmly at 90°/135°/180°. I couldn’t use the t-slot hardware that came with it because it’s too wide for my Caliraised roof rack but I had some threaded t-nuts that I was able to use to mount up the antenna.

My only real complaint is the included antenna arm holding bracket. It’s not really needed but they could have designed it better. First, it’s plastic and I’m sure it’ll become brittle with constant UV exposure. Second, it grips the antenna too tightly and you have to really put some force to get it loose. Third, it’s one fixed height and designed to be used in the t-slot but again it’s too wide for my rack’s t-slot. I think they could have improved it by making it out of aluminum, adding a spring assist to hold and release the antenna mast, making it a threaded rod where we could adjust the height at which it grips the antenna and finally by just giving it a threaded base for use with our own t-nuts. But just my two cents.

Overall I like it so far. I just did a driveway test but I do have poor reception there. Went from -106 to -102 with the booster off to -94 to -92 with the booster on. No oscillation issues and I’m happy with the antenna positions so far. I’m going to wait to final mount the internal antenna until I can get a true test out in a very low reception area.

-just going to leave the internal antenna hanging for now until I decide this is where I want it

Check out one of these for that antenna, give you the option to raise and lower it from inside the truck.

Have you had a chance to test out the weboost? I’m really considering getting one but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

Picked up a tonneau cover off market place.

Dumb question, I put it on in the rain. Will closing it up with a wet bed cause any mold problems?

I'm not a mold expert but I don't think so. I've had my roll up cover for almost four years without any problems. It's not sealed and it get's wet occasionally with O.E. bet mat. I even used it to haul all kinds of garbage. I just clean it after using the bed. But if you're worried, clean and disinfect with some Lysol aerosol to kill some bacteria.

Wired up my Amazon LED fog pods lol.. and I had the little bob job painted in MGM. It’s in the middle of a hardtail conversion currently, in case you’re wondering why it’s missing a lot of frame and the seat
