I think HF can't keep them in stock (at least here). They didnt even have one on the floor and when I asked about it, the manager said they usually sell out asap.

I haven't used it yet, but I saw a lot of great reviews. I'll be testing it more over the next few weeks.

Like sphinxbccp said, the extension is mounted at the top.

they have an adhesive backing. Picked them up at Home Depot, comes in a 5 pack. They worked great and attach firm. I like the magnets vs tape for easily removal for cleaning or if I need to unbolt the seats

My cousin traded his 2nd gen for a new Tundra. He called me and told me he dropped something off for me for my Tacoma. These are bed rails that are made to bolt onto the bed cleats and they can be easily removed or repositioned. He gave me two of them. I finally got around to messing with them yesterday. I went to my local hardware store and bought some stainless hardware. I ordered some rubber clamps to mount on the bar so I can mount a shovel and axe or whatever else I need. He claims a forum member made these years ago and used to sell them on this page.

Also... I should say thank you. I frequent the Jersey shore all summer long. I care about our beaches too and it's nice to see folks who do the same.

Nice!! Smart work too on the reflectors. I am going to add that to the list for mine also. Getting to the point where I need some inexpensive mods! Haha.

check the workshop welding thread, but i'm pretty sure that's not a MIG issue, so getting a TIG is going to result in the same 'problems'.

re-check the 'cracked bed' threads. it's not the composite bed that flexes or cracks. it's always the rear metal frame support for the tailgate that cracks. usually from extreme flexing from an overhead load. so your cost approximation has a point, but it's possibly on the low end of the correct fix.

i'm one of the guys that bought the bed stiffeners specifically for the tiedown options. i couldn't care less about the stiffener functionality, but they're 100% worth the cost for the tiedown points right at the back edge of the bed. for anything that extends past the rear of the truck, it's perfect.
