Finally got to get the TRD wheels mounted and balanced today.

Yeah my concern with upgrading the 3rd light is if it leaks they won’t warranty it and since it’s a known issue on some years I’m hesitant

 

Just took my truck in to the dealer to have the BSM system checked.
After about 2 hours they called and asked me how long since I had the lift installed. They said that the sensors were "out of alignment".
I'll see what they come up with next after they try to re-align them.

 

Not yet, but thinking about it.

 

I really for some reason like the Black TRD rims, they look "perfect". Around where i live, on Vancouver island everyone has bronze rims..

 

I personally don't get the whole bronze fad. It has always seemed an odd color for a vehicle rim to me. But hey I'm old and still like chrome.

i scratched the headlights when i was putting it on the truck, and also when i was putting on the bumper.
so make sure you put like masking tape or something to cover the lenses!

i have TRD/ DRL option already so it was a straight plug and play and no way to mess up the plugs
except maybe there were 2 that were 2 pins so just make sure you match red with red like guide shows in this pic

 

Did a little bit of tuning. weather was finally willing to let me get this done.

Lift doesn’t affect my bsm. I would have to call bullshit of that.

 

Probably hard to see but I finally got around to installing a set of the Red Line hood struts. Next is the Morrimoto 3rd brake light but Im still a bit intimidated about the headliner.

 

They’re as dim as I can make them.

 

Slapped on a pair of Baja Designs S2’s I had laying around as chase lights…. Temporary until I figure something else out haha, maybe flush S2’s in the bumper.

 

My wife and I just made it home from a 2400 mile roadtrip. We hit through the Badlands in South Dakota, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, and the Grand Teton. We lived out of the Taco from Sunday through today. The pickup handled it with zero issues. Didn't experience any gear hunting until we got to altitude in the mountains, it either wanted to slam on it or start losing speed. If we had the make a similar trip with more than 2 people or take our dogs, I would want to switch over to a topper and clamshell tent first.

My understanding is they charge you an arm and a leg for this at the dealer. I believe anything over 1" lift they say you have voided the warranty (might be 2"). I did a 1.5" lift and haven't had any issues.

Safelite Windshield Repair now will calibrate them at a much lower cost than dealer if it comes to that and the dealer price is crazy.

 

Did some lights and liners.

 

First wash and wax and the first car/truck that was new I didn’t need to clay bar first. It was smooth as a babies butt lol straight from the dealer. I think since it was made in June and I bought it only a day or so after the dealer got it so wasn’t laying in the sun baking and getting water spotted. Made the first wax easy peasy just put a light coat of meguiars Ultimate wax after steam cleaning the under carriage and then washing the truck with chemical guys Hydrosuds SI02 Ceramic Car Wash Soap. Came out really nice and made the silver really pop but hard to see in the photos.

 

Got the same set up! Worth paying a little bit for a clean look.
