I’m not totally sure about this but I think you would have to polish the plastic. Black plastic just looks grey because it’s all fuzzy and scratched.

edit: mine’s painted and needs to be painted again.

Managed to break another wheel stud the other day while rotating my tires. Think the issue is I a) didn't have the wheel tight enough when i lowered the truck off the jacks so the torque wrench wasn't getting the resistance it needed to click (maybe the wheel was misaligned) and b) i should have listened to myself when it felt like i was tightening too hard and re-started.

At least it's a cheap mistake.

Took it in today to get it swapped at a local shop as I didn't have time to do it myself. Will probably order some torque sticks for the impact gun so i can get it 90% there before dropping the truck, then just torque from there to be sure.

Cleaned off my takeoff Pro shocks. What are these going for on the second hand market? Stickers are pretty rashed on one of the rears. No leaks. Have 26,296 miles.

6 weeks old & got first scratch. Wife was in truck sitting on pass side while I ran into Lowes for some parts after our lunch out. We parked in handicap spot w/ enough room on driver side to park another car. Some assclown comes out with a 10 ft piece of threaded rod & while turning, hit driver door just below handle. It's scratched down to primer. Wife got out yelling at him but truck was running. He threw rod into a POS beater truck & sped off. His tailgate was down & plate not visible. Oh well, it was bound to happen. Paint is also ceramic coated. I wonder if a paint pen would make it less visible? I'm more worried about corrosion 1st, visual 2nd. Scratch is about an inch long.

That’s some crazy shit! Figures they weren’t paid up. Hopefully your wife wasn’t hurt in any of those incidents.

Looks really good. Are those the parking sensors on either end? Also wondering if there’s a hitch receiver behind the license plate. Like the additional clearance without the hitch receiver below the plate; I almost always forget to remove my receiver cap and it usually gets left behind somewhere :anonymous:

    Thanks!
Yeah, the hitch is located behind the plate, and is one of the main reasons I went with this bumper, to get our hitch up and out of the way.

The black things are actually plugs that came with the bumper for the parking sensors, which I used since I didn't have the extra tech package that had the rear sensors in it.
I didn't have the spring loaded flip down license plate yet, so the plate is held on with zip ties atm.

Thanks! I’ll check out the RCI website. It would be nice to have the extra clearance without having to cut the side panels.

    It happens.
I had some missing paint. I bought the OEM base coat, metallic clear, and clear clear pens for my truck (it's metallic black). And it made everything look much better. It's worth a try. I know it sucks... At least nothing is dented.
