They don't chew or scratch. The 'hammock' really just contains the dirt and hair. If you shop around there are others that have flaps that cover the door panels as well. All in all it works well to contain the dirt, hair. Creates storage spaces for stuff in the footwells. Stays in place. Has openings for the seat belt buckles. (We connect a lead that connects to the harness and the buckle.)

I have a medium sized dog who sits still in the car and it still looks like new (note: it's all quilted nylon; it's not stiff like the pictures imply). Mine also likes to lose her lunch from time-to-time so I got one with sides all around.

If you have a big dog with claws that jumps around a lot you would want something tougher.

 

Might want to look into these Thinskinz door protectors. I have them in mine and like how it prevents my dogs from rolling down the window.

 

I need to order some of these. My Great Dane doesn't scratch or open windows, she just has terrible car anxiety and drools by the gallon leaving a wonderful film on my doors that runs down to the speakers.

Is that an aftermarket add-on, or do Tacomas come with them stock? (If they are stock I have to admit I have never noticed them on my 2021).

 

My teton workshop shifter just came in today! Nice heavy feeling shifter. Craftsmanship feels great!

 

They are add-on PPF. Some dealers add them and make you pay too much.

 

^ This. PPF = Paint Protection Film. Ours has it on the front end, hood, fenders, door handles, door edges and probably places I haven't found. It's still in great shape and worth it IF you have someone local do it other than a Toyota dealer. Most places that do wraps, window tint and such will do it. There are full kits available from places like Xpel, while others do a "free hand" application. Saves a lot of dings and chips if you're concerned about that sort of thing.

 

You should clarify that "free hand" usually doesn't involve a real blade anywhere near the paint but rather knifeless tape:

Also installed spc UCA’s the other day but didn’t post because I was too tired bending the sheet metal.

 

The door skins help with hair control and messing with the windows, also get the childproof seat belt covers.. mine figured it out 3x on their first trip to the store.
I open all hatches and use my leaf vac every time they ride.. 80 & 60lb Aussholes
