Spent a couple days this week rebuilding my cv axles with a boot kit from Dobinsons, using them for outer and inner. Also replaced my rotors for Brembo, steel lines from toytec/crown and pads for TRD ceramics while I was at it. Flushed brake and clutch and power steering fluid. 2017 MT babayyyyyyyyy.

My garage is the only thing that provides all that.
If I drive a car outside in the winter I'm shopping for a windshield come spring.

Found myself being rather busy this week:
The truck just hit 29k miles and with winter on the horizon, I figured it was time for some maintenance and upgrades. A few notes regarding everything I did:
    • The transfer case fluid was relatively clear and had no shimmer. It probably didn't need to be changed.
    • The drums were not coming off unless I threaded two M8x1.25 50mm bolts through them. Also, a solid amount of brake dust came out with the drums--can't recommend breathing this stuff in.
    • Just doing one coat of the Cosmoline used about 3.25 cans. Letting it cure now and will go back to touch up any missed spots tomorrow. Get an oversuit, goggles, gloves, and wear boots that you don't care about if you're thinking of doing this.
    • The Fumoto oil valve has a torque spec of 15 ft-lbs. which is lower than the factory oil drain plug.
    • If you're pulling the dash panels off for the vent rings, now is a good time to deep clean; it only adds a couple of minutes to the process.
    • Debadging can be done carefully with a heat gun and a plastic wedge from a trim panel removal kit. Just be mindful of the heat as the paint can bubble if overheated.
    • Need someone to make the manual cup holder surround and chrome shift trim ring in MGM. A Toyota emblem for the steering wheel and the door handle covers in MGM would come in handy as well.
I'll be writing up a procedure for Cosmoline process and posting most of what I've done here in the build thread in the next week or two.

Installed Sony XAV-9500ES. Couldn’t be happier. Can’t beat wireless Apple Car Play. My wife loves it.

Any tips on removing this screw on the tailgate? I’m wanting to repaint this tailgate reinforcement but the torx head is stripped. I tried using a dremel to carve a line for a flathead screwdriver but it’s really stuck in there. You can tell the screw on the other side that I got out has started rusting. Not sure what to do, I’ve had shit luck with ez outs in the past for something like this

I've had success with the Dremel-carving + penetrating oil (give it time) + impact driver. But since you have some of it backed out, agree with @salamihater that back and forth with vise grips could work. Again, give the PB Blaster (or similar) time to work...

Not any tire I've seen so far?
They have a DOT serial numbers, but that's not specific to each tire.

Installed my Anderson engineering manifold spacer today, so far the most involved mod I have done but still relatively simple

Changed my spark plugs. It wasn’t as bad as I thought. It took me 2 hours but I got sidetracked a few times. I doubt they’d ever been changed and I’m at 73k. $150 is parts and tools vs $700 at the dealer
