Busted out the Dremel for this one. Put together a phone mount from other components. Used the Course Motorsports bracket which tucks behind the head unit, and married it to the Magsafe Car Mount Head from Quad Lock. Had to cut off the threaded stud on the bracket and drill out the hole, and cut off the swivel component from the Quad Lock car mount assembly. Overall pretty happy with it.

Never gave it a chance. Put 888s on 5100s and AAL and went ahead and did the bushing swap this week. Had a '17 that I put the exact same thing on it but waited a week due to time to swap in the bushing.

Need new tires so waited until I had all the parts, time & weather to do it all. New wheels & tires go on Monday!

Spent a couple days this week rebuilding my cv axles with a boot kit from Dobinsons, using them for outer and inner. Also replaced my rotors for Brembo, steel lines from toytec/crown and pads for TRD ceramics while I was at it. Flushed brake and clutch and power steering fluid. 2017 MT babayyyyyyyyy.

My garage is the only thing that provides all that.
If I drive a car outside in the winter I'm shopping for a windshield come spring.

Found myself being rather busy this week:
    • TRD Pro taillights
    • Disable in Reverse harness from daveeasa
    • Meso Customs vent rings, climate rings, and 4WD shift knob ring all in MGM
    • Changed engine oil and transfer case fluid; added the Fumoto F103SX
    • Cosmolined the undercarriage
    • Painted the drums with Duplicolor caliper matte black
    • Detailed the interior
    • Debadged the doors and tailgate
The truck just hit 29k miles and with winter on the horizon, I figured it was time for some maintenance and upgrades. A few notes regarding everything I did:
    • The transfer case fluid was relatively clear and had no shimmer. It probably didn't need to be changed.
    • The drums were not coming off unless I threaded two M8x1.25 50mm bolts through them. Also, a solid amount of brake dust came out with the drums--can't recommend breathing this stuff in.
    • Just doing one coat of the Cosmoline used about 3.25 cans. Letting it cure now and will go back to touch up any missed spots tomorrow. Get an oversuit, goggles, gloves, and wear boots that you don't care about if you're thinking of doing this.
    • The Fumoto oil valve has a torque spec of 15 ft-lbs. which is lower than the factory oil drain plug.
    • If you're pulling the dash panels off for the vent rings, now is a good time to deep clean; it only adds a couple of minutes to the process.
    • Debadging can be done carefully with a heat gun and a plastic wedge from a trim panel removal kit. Just be mindful of the heat as the paint can bubble if overheated.
    • Need someone to make the manual cup holder surround and chrome shift trim ring in MGM. A Toyota emblem for the steering wheel and the door handle covers in MGM would come in handy as well.
I'll be writing up a procedure for Cosmoline process and posting most of what I've done here in the build thread in the next week or two.

Installed Sony XAV-9500ES. Couldn’t be happier. Can’t beat wireless Apple Car Play. My wife loves it.
