You might have a little difficulty getting a clean-flush-90-degree fit for the stiffeners on the passenger side.

Driving slowly :)? Studs, but I don't use them since most days are still dry even during winter in the CO mountains. My favorite all-purpose tire has been GY Duratracs which do great on trails and in the snow, but still have large enough tread blocks that they feel squirrely to me on ice. Believe it or not I thought the stock tires did quite well on the slick roads last winter but I want more traction for snow and trails.
I know it's all tradeoffs: the tire that can "do it all" isn't really good at anything. But I can still hope for the magic tire that can.

I wonder why these require drilling, when the frame mounted option is chosen, when most others don't? And $10 shipping? Not complaining but sounds too good to be true.

What do you run for winter? I live in Michigan and have had lots of traction with anything Yokohama. We don’t have mountains though..

Police suvs in Michigan use Nokian. I was told their tread pattern was the key.

How hard was it to replace that lens? Mine came with some scratches too and I’d like to replace it if I can get to it.

Most tires with the snowflake symbol indicating ok for snow use are good. You don't have to run dedicated winter tires in snow and ice. I've been using all weather (NOT all season) for around 10 years. They work well and can be run all year. I'm in Alberta Canada with snow 6-7 months and Rocky Mountains. Currently have General Grabber ATX.

There are a few YouTube videos on how to replace the screen. I believe Chloe Kuo has a video on her YouTube site. Doesn't look to complicated.

@17taconut tires are a product of compromise. The Nokian is designed for snow and ice but not specifically for off road. However like most tires light off road would be doable. Most forum members have there snow change overs and A/T tires for summer.
