Southern California weather is the best. If I stay in California after I retire I will definitely be moving south to the high desert.

My solution was wheel mounts on the back crossbar of my roof rack. Bikes stick up a little higher, but no problem closing the tailgate.

Sounds like the harness I need for the backlights. Back when I bought my DD fogs, I didn't know they don't work with Oem Led headlights.

I hear ya! I don't think I could live in an area with lots of rain, I need my sunshine! I live on the coast, it's great spring/summer/fall, but our winters suck! It doesn't get real cold, but the wind always blows off the water, cuts right thru you. In order to stay warm, you have to wear so many clothes you can hardly move. You also can be working on the windy side of a house, be bundled up freezing to death, go around to the other side of the house and be in a tee shirt getting a tan! So frustrating!

I've got a few more years here, hoping to sell my house and get one in Florida. Plan is to live here 6-7 months and Florida 5-6 months in the winter. My girlfriend owns a house down the street from me, so we'd keep her's here. I could really enjoy 70-80 degree days year round! Hoping you have a safe trip and enjoy your time with your family.

When did folks from the OBX move south for the winters? People from up north use to think OBX was the south. :burnrubber:

Sounds like you’ve got a great plan !
Yeah every year I say this is my last year here but this time I think it’s it lol. We get freezing rain here and a lot of black ice in the winter to. Temperatures can hover just above freezing and below so we get layers of ice and snow . Pretty brutal to drive in and the summer Months are very short . The positive side of this is it makes you really appreciate the nice weather when it’s here lol.

Well last week I was just looking at Daihatsu Hijets in Japanese auctions and I came across one that seemed mint. I got in contact with a Canadian importer and a few hours later I sent him a down payment. It is a 99 with only 13k km. $10,500 shipped to my door. Then I thought well I don't need two trucks. Yesterday I traded my Tacoma in on a next to new 2022 Lexus nx300 get it next Saturday. Sad day but on to new things I still also own my little Yaris as well. I don't have any pics of the Lexus yet it is black with the red interior. I got 2k more for my truck then I paid for it a year and a half ago and 50k km.

The RX350's are pretty nice. I'd prefer a black one with grey or red leather, f sport package of course.

I sort of had that idea too when I moved to NC 32 years ago. Even though I had been stationed at FT Bragg (now FT Liberty) I had never had the real 'down east' experience. Then I went fishing at the Outer Banks in November when the big Red Drum move in. I ended up catching a bunch of nice Speckled Trout and freezing my ass off doing it. That wind is brutal out there.

That Daihatsu is totally cool. Couldn't tell by the photo but is it an AWD version?

Finally got around to installing 5100s and progressive AAL from @HeadStrong Off-Road! Netted about 2" all around, hoping it settles around 1.5". Hoping to keep the factory rake!
