OVS awning install this evening. The GFC billet brackets are small AF. I had to alter the bracket to get it to accept the OVS spacing on the awning. It isn’t going anywhere, but it should have been waaayyyy easier for what they want for those brackets.

I didn’t get any photos, but I also mounted at tie down specifically for my spare. Two 3/8” rivnuts and an old tie down bracket mounted to the front of the bed, and a couple short ratchet straps. It sure beats a $350 spare tire mounting bracket.

Nice! My kid fabbed up a similar solution for me, and for the same reason; the commercial ones are too expensive. 3.jpg

I am a firm believer in buying the last year model of a long run. I bet you will get great reliability out of it and can spend all that extra money on making it exactly like you want it. You did good.

Started building a drawer system. Hopefully will finish the drawers tomorrow.

Also picked up a brand new bed tent and air mattress off Craigslist for a steal.

Exactly! My last Tacoma was a 2015 SR base which was the last of the 2nd Generation. I modified that truck to get it exactly like I wanted. Intermittent wipers, cruise control, backup camera and LED tail and backup lights.
What I love most about Tacomas is they all share the same wiring harness and the plugs for the upgrades are already in place. I hope that I grow to love my '23 as much as I loved my '15.

I also added bed lights to my '23 in preparation for a Retrax bed cover. The correct bed rails are supposed be here next week. We'll see. I made a mistake in ordering from TonneauCovered.com to save a little money, and it has been nothing but a headache and frustration. Totally not worth the savings. I'll post about that in another thread when everything is resolved.

I have that same tent. I love that I dont have to unload the bed to install it since it uses the bed as the floor instead of having a liner built in.

Unfortunately found evidence of pack rats in the engine compartment, little paw prints on the engine cover and air box cover, so headed to my buddy’s house to pick up some Rid A Rat rodent deterrents and put em in there. He was kind enough to do a little custom work for me on it to do ring terminals and spliced them in together for one power lead. Tied it into an existing 10amp DTB connection and my ground buss. Wish I got em sooner and avoided any potential damage.
