Does anyone have Alpha Rex smoked taillights?
I have a pair and have been told it’s hard to notice when my brake lights come on during the day.
Is that normal since they’re smoked? Debating on getting different taillights now cause I don’t wanna risk getting rear ended. PFA

    Thoughts…

This could possibly be residual oil from the last dealership oil change. Just noticed it when I backed into a parking space and had to cut the wheels sharp to correct.

Edit: Excuse the rust, I live on the coast.

    It's never a waste. OBX?
Edit OK Ocracoke. Technically part of the Outer Banks I guess. Was tring to picture that wide of beach somewhere near Oregon Inlet. But no other vehicles or bunch of tire tracks was throwing me.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I think you're fooling yourself. The whole boot would be covered, not just the bottom. Looks to me like a seal gone bad. Clean the boot with something like brake cleaner and see if it comes back and how fast.

Did my 25k oil change today. Last oil change was done by the dealership for the 20k Toyota Care service interval or whatever it's called and that was the last complimentary oil change I get from buying the car. They tightened the oil drain plug, the oil filter housing, and the little metal piece on the bottom of the filter housing so god damn fucking tight like they were trying to seal up Cthulu in there or something. Worst part was I forgot my breaker bar in my friend's car and he was away so I had to get creative. I have an old floor jack that doesn't work anymore and separated the two piece jack pole and used one half of it, inserted my socket wrench in it and used it as a makeshift breaker bar. If not for the dealership tightening every nut, bolt, and housing like they're fucking lives depended on it, I could've been done in about 20 minutes. Instead, it took me that long just to come up with a jank ass solution -____-

Nope, but the stage 1 VLED tail light kit with oem tail lights is the way to go. They're very bright.

I just bought it in January with a little over 31K on it. And it sat at a body shop for a month to fix it after someone hit it after 2 weeks of ownership. I normally don’t catch even numbers like that. When I do I’m doing 70-80 mph down the highway and can’t take a pic of it.

I’ve seen this before - sadly, this is your Taco, trying to save itself.

Now, no more excuses. Repeat after me: Fluid Film - I spray that s#!+ on everything.

I don’t like the way the OEM tail lights look. I had all LED bulbs in before I bought these and they were really bright but I want an aftermarket look and nothing OEM looking. I even just installed Meso v5 turn signals

I love the way Attica 4x4 Rouge Series headlights look. The brights aren’t the greatest though, so I also installed Baja squadron pro fog lights as well.

I was considering getting these, but that's a shame if they're not bright enough during the day, not worth the risk. I'd be interested to see what some others who own these say.

Tomorrow I’ll verify myself during the day and see how the brake lights look from a distance. The biggest red flag I did see though is my passenger tail light is definitely dimmer than the driver side. I was walking up to it with some buddies and unlocked my truck to show them the new taillights and noticed it. I’ve had them for like a month so I already have to replace one under warranty.
