What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Do you have a product # for the secondary battery tray and heat shield?

 

Did you determine what was the culprit of the squeal initially?

 

Not for nothing, it's not the truck. It's probably something dumb. Do you have any leaking coolant, oil, or power steering fluid that might be getting on the belt? What brand belt did you go with? I always stay with OEM or Continental/equivalent. A squeaky belt isn't something your truck just creates because it sucks.

 

All OEM parts. And I don't see any leaks. It was initially diagnosed as the alternator, belt tensioner was seized. So I just replaced both top idler pulleys and belt tensioner while it was apart for the alternator. 3 months before that water pump went out, so that was just replaced.

Still squealed after all that, another diagnosis turned out to be the lower idler pulley replaced that and squealing went away.........and now it's back

 

Spray some WD40 on the lower pulley bearing area and see if it goes away. If it does, you got a bum pulley bearing or improper install. While its uncommon, it's not unheard of.

 

Yeah I'm going to do some troubleshooting later on. For now I'll be driving my Ford Fiesta

65897400 TOYOTA YARIS IV 2020-2021 is the heat shield. You can take any other, I took this one because it was big enough for my project and OEM Toyota. Since I am in Germany, it will have to pass German specs... Rather be prudent from the git go.

 

Head-up display, hood light, camper shell lights, USB outlet on passenger side and one in the bed, cigarette lighter passenger side and one in the bed, possibly a fridge, portable AC for the dogs, ...
That is the next project. In the process of ordering parts for it.

 

Added the 1/2” rear leaf spacer to finish the OEM FOX suspension had to get rid of the “squat” and added some knock off china bumpers caps (crap quality, looking for a set of perfect OEM chrome bumpers caps!

I wanted to show you pictures of the wear that the cover causes, just so you are not alarmed one day.
this is the wear the cover causes on the tailgate, which I was not expecting, i think i till try to pull up on the cover and retighten it down. also the paint will start to come off the track over time.

 

Who did you write/email to get new end caps? I have the same cover and always wondered what I would do if I lost one of the end caps.
