They're handy as hell. When wheeling, I have my phone, GMRS radio, and GoPro all mounted on mine.

It’s all about the ply’s , the more ply the more weight you can pack on.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
I can not imagine the rational thinking that results in the 10% de-rate.

I mean, how can the tire "know"?.........

I picked up the Wescott 2nd hand from a member here so it was reasonable on the wallet. I recently swapped in the TRD Pro Fox takeoffs on all corners so my ubolts were all torqued good cuz I did it. I have new 1/2 longer ubolts on the westcott now but will recheck the torque soon. They should not come loose, glad you caught yours in time!

The Rubber and Tire Association recommends derating the “P” tires if they are used on trucks because they know the service conditions are likely to be more severe than if they were used on a car.

Your tires may be good for 1-2000 hours of driving, but there is a difference between carrying the rated load for 10 hours or 100-200.

Or, to put it in more conventional terms: I can backpack my daughter up a whole BC mountain, but I can probably piggyback my wife across the back yard…what is my load rating?

please post photos once you've installed them. I'm in the same boat as you and really want to see how they look on an electric divers seat. Good luck!

If both your daughter and your wife are the same weight, what difference does it make which you carry?

Reading your post, I get the feeling you are just making stuff up.

For keeping stock steering wheel free of wear and tear Id say its a win. Mine gets alot of dirt and build up there. Usually clean the wheel couple times a year and stock pleather starting to show wear.

The “backpack” versus “piggyback” references might have been too subtle….
Anyway, the tables are easy to find if you don’t believe me:
