Yep, same thing happened to me with the plastic housing, but a much smaller hole where the tab broke off. Unfortunately didn't even know it until AFTER the oil change. Went to crank it up for a leak check (thankfully) and spit oil absolutely everywhere. Good news, I had incredible oil pressure! Bad news, that pressure sent oil all over the engine bay and ground underneath.. Went with an auto parts store aluminum housing. It was great for 2 oil changes, then developed some sort of micro crack I couldn't even physically see inside the 3/8" drive indent of the drain cap. It barely leaked, really only when it was warm, but enough that I bought another housing. I've been through it with these oil filter housings, but I'm still thankful to find the issues myself and be responsible when failures happen, not relying on dealerships to create them and blow my engine.

This is exactly what I'm trying to do. Western Pa and Phoenix Az might have different amounts of sunlight available for solar.

Understandable, ha. I think you'll either have to look into an XT60 combiner/parallel connector (not sure how well or even IF that would work) or find another power station that accepts 2 power inputs. A quick search found the Pecron E1500LFP is one of those.

Apparently a combiner will work. Not sure which EF power station you have though.

Unfortunately I've heard this several times, dealership over torquing. I'm dreading the day I have to do my own oil/filter change. So far its been all dealership. Seems the Motix products are popular to aid in the job, as well as, a breaker bar and a metal OEM housing. Good luck

Just start now performing your own oil changes. Get Motivx and the Fumoto valve, and stop worrying if the stealership mouth-breathers screwed up. Some do not use ramps, other use 6 in ramps only because of the existing under-truck clearance.

Or keep on as you are and keep praying it will be alright when you take over.

IMG_2767.jpg This is a stupid post considering the thread on oil filter overtorque.

My '23 OR still about as tight as the day got it.

You wouldn’t like NC. Try somewhere else.

@MGMDesertTaco will just LOVE having to buy the NC-specific no-fault car insurance. And the police working harder to push your accident-involved vehicle off the road than they work to investigate the cause. :annoyed:

Well ... Toyota website says the 15620-31060 is not for the 2022 model year (less expensive) but another one is designed for 2022 and pointed me to the second part number (3x cost). If that part number is correct for 2022 and the site is wrong it would be better.

When I look up my order on Amazon for Toyota Oil Filter Cap - 15620-31060 purchased in Aug 2018 and installed shortly thereafter (on my 2018 TRD Sport 4 dr 4x4) the site now says
    upload_2024-7-25_21-10-59.png

    So, WTF knows?

If I were intrigued by the notion of swapping to the aluminum Filter Cap I’d get an OEM one off Amazon (15620-31060) and give it a try. If it didn’t fit, back it’d go.

Oh, and fun fact, the plastic one I removed from the Taco fit my son’s 2012 RAV4 that has a 4 cylinder. His was missing the better part of more than one of the “tabs”, well on its way to failure.

    Go figure…….
