Ozium is one thing I looked into. It was a lot more pricey at retail and for some reason around me they only sold tiny cans of it in stores. It was available at that place with the world's biggest selection in a larger size. I just opted for the meguairs product mostly for the delivery method in to the vents. The vents seemed like where I could still smell it with the AC on and windows closed, even though I always smoked with a window down. I could set it off the Maguires product and let the AC system pull it in. With Ozium I'd figure id have to spray it in the recirculation intake while in the cab with it going. Knowing my luck it would probably blow it out in my face.

Replaced my tailgate panel with a 15” x 55” sheet of 1/4” King Starboard HDPE. Installed rivnuts and 1” 1/4-20 SS button head bolts for the lower section, and used a forstner bit to countersink them. Also had to trim 1/8” off the 2 rubber bump stops for the tailgate to close properly.

now I can put my beer down and not have it fall over sheet of HDPE was $60 from a local marine shop in town. $10 on hardware and $20 for the rivnut tool.

    Amazon?

I use this to clean the ac coils and then follow up with the big can of ozium. Not for smoke, but just regular cleaning. Seems to work well.

Installed my BHLM custom headlights from Kevin @no vtec 4me today. The pics don’t do them justice. Kevin installed DD switchback halos, smoked turn signal covers, and smoked clear side markers. Kevin improved my OEM headlights beyond my expectations.

I started the truck turned on the air on recirc got out closed the drivers door opened the rear drivers door sprayed for 20 seconds and closed the door and let the truck and ac run for about 5 mins. Took two times of that to kill the smell.

Changed out the Rear Diff oil for the first time on this vehicle. I didn't see any metal shavings/glitter in the oil or on the magnetic plug, just slug.

What products do you use for deodorizing? I have an older 1988 Subaru that had sat for a bit and I don’t want an over chemically smell but it has a musty smell I just can’t seem to get rid of no matter how many times I’ve cleaned and shampooed it. It’s had it since I bought it a few years ago. Might just be baked in at this point. THANKS!

This is on my list to do soon. I’m at 49k and due for an oil change in about 2k, might just do it then.

Basic 15k mile maintenance; oil and filter change and tire rotation. Used the Motivx tools, which are very nice.

Took the opportunity to install a Fumote valve 133S. I wasn't thinking about it being brass, torqued it down, and this happened.
    20240825_133054.jpg

Luckily I was able to extract the broken off nipple from the pan without damaging any threads using an extractor. I had purchased two Fumoto valves, as I planned to put one in the Highlander. I installed the second valve hand tight and then a quarter turn to snug it down.
    20240825_120622.jpg
Now I need to go find another Fumoto to use for the Highlander.

Advice I read to install my Fumoto ... hand-turn to tight, then use wrench for 1/4 turn more. Torque was not on my list of tight-check.

Looks great. To be honest I don't remember exactly how the OEM attaches, but couldn't you have used the stock mounting locations? I have wanted to do this not just for a beer to not tip but if I climb on the tailgate to get someone out it doesn't hurt so bad on the knees, and then finally as a flat surface while camping.

I took it camping and broke the tires in on the dirt roads. I wasn’t at high enough elevation to get any snow, just rain. So far I’m liking the new tires over the original ones. Better grip off-road and better manners on road over the Goodyear AT’s that came on it. The new ones weigh more, but also have a higher load rating. The original tires were SL rated, but the new ones are E rated. A bit too much for the Tacoma, but for stock size I only had the options of SL, XL, and E. I would have been happy with C rated if it was offered in the size, but anything less wasn’t an option for me.

Same here. He does nice work. It's the only modification that I really didn't want to DIY. I'm glad I had him do it. Professional job, no leaks, looks OEM.

    Dang!

I did not torque my Fumoto.

    Hand tighten then 1/4 turn.

Got new wheels a few weeks back. Fifteen52 TurboMacs 16x8 et0. Last night I changed out the TRD bed decals. Not an exact match to the wheels but much closer than stock.
