I moved to Austin in 1979 and spent 10 yrs at FT Hood. Moved back to Houston 2017 because my little sister died and I got my parents house.
I'm 70 miles from Freeporrt so I do go to the beach.

Got my OEC at a small Vermont mountain. The experience of working patrol is life changing.

    nice set up!

What outlet/jack you go with for your mic?

this summer I installed radio unit under passenger seat but running mic up to dash and kinda in the way. Your set up looks great and would be easy to wire given the location of my radio unit.

    appreciate any insights! thank you.

Apparently Icon 8 springs only last five years:

    Horseshoes anyone?
Note: this is not from a crash or bumps, this is from general wearing on dirt roads. A bit of a disappointment. New Fox coilovers on the way. Will post up the redo.

Damn, that sucks. I had a front spring break on a Sentra many years ago. Of course it went right into the sidewall of the fairly new tire. Thank God I was going really slow when it happened.

Put the damn air dam back on. Noticeable drop in mpg after taking it off and while it did look more rugged without it, I don’t mind the look of it and I’ll take the extra mileage.

Also got almost the last bit of chrome delete done in the interior today, Meso cup holder surround. Last bit is the steering wheel overlay.

Glad I took mind off as soon as I got it home from buying it so I never had the MPG info to include in my decision to leave it off lol.

I’d probably be in the same boat if I’d never had it to start with. I don’t really wheel, so it doesn’t bother me to keep it on there.

After 6 years I retired the thin steel "skid plate" and put in a Amazon special lostar skid plate. Fitment is good, all the bolts were still in the box when I opened it and there was no major damage to the plate. The paint finish on the plate is trash, but I dont really care about the paint on it.

I got this plate not for rock crawling or offroading in general, I got it for ice fishing where I sometimes have to cross ice heaves, or big ice chunks that people like to put out on the ice when they cut spear holes.

    I did the same thing

I'm a MPG nerd and I removed that thing before I could justify keeping it on.

In reality if I really wanted to focus on MPG I would have gotten a different vehicle. My stock truck was getting 24mpg with the small 245 tires. I get 20-22 now with light wheels and AT tires... That's good enuff

Pictures would be useless. I installed the Screenprotech instrument cluster kit. Such a small thing with such a great quality of life improvement.

I've tried to ignore the scratches in the clear plastic for years. I was getting so annoyed, I was looking at replacing the whole part.

This should be a dealer option.
