The 5th gen 4Runner seats in the TRD OR trim are a lot more comfortable than the 3rd gen Tacoma seats. I should've kept my 4Runner.

On my tune I went light/mild. Perfect for me. Drove some long hills on the hwy today and it held gears and didn't hunt. :)

    Thanks for your feed back..

    1. Definitely what I want..

    2. It (EST) does raise the shift points and holds the lower gear longer, doesn't seem to gear hunt nearly as much either, plus seems like it has a little better throttle response..

    3. That is what I am not sure of yet, I'm an old school hot rodder, when I built the transmission for my fun car, I modified it to be a full manual trans (zero automatic function anymore) and it feels like a Mule is kicking you in the back when I up shift it.. Not looking for that so much, but I love throttle response so I have to figure out which 2 to go with...

    4. Unless the 93 will give me enough gain in fuel mileage over 87 (Shell or Exxon only for this truck) to offset the extra cost, I will probably stick with the 87, I will probably run a few tanks just out of curiosity..

I'm going this route. The upholstery shop is going to take a look at it tomorrow and tell me what they can do for me. I'll let you know what they say

I went through something similar a few years back, picked up an ecoboost expedition(i have this weird fetish with SUV's and throwing performance parts at them). came from a raptor and a few other f150s so I assumed the interior was the same, the seat bottom was shorter which made me feel like I was always slipping forward so after 30 mins of driving my back was in knots. dumped it for a 2500HD sierra that I ended up trading for this after 200k happy miles the transfer case, front diff and rear locker decided to all fail within a month of each other. I have my porsche macan s but kinda prefer not to put 60+ miles a day on it.

    2. you can choose two - i'm using mild as basic, and ECT button is switching it to medium.

It just snowed today, a wet snow that goes to ice as soon as it is driven on. Last winter, with the same studded tires, I did not have to use 4WD that much. Today, with the OTT tune being the only difference I found myself spinning more. This is with the lite setting. Now, it is slick, but I am wondering if the throttle is coming on quicker than with the stock tune. Something to think about if you are going to be in a snowy area. I will see how this progresses throughout the winter.

Even with this, the OTT stays in the truck just so I don't have to deal with the gear hunting.

You have a sunroof? My 2018 does not and I seem to have headroom - maybe I have a short torso…..

oddly enough i take it when the weather sucks. but when its nice out its launch control at every stop light, basically a 4500 rpm 2 step w/ 18#'s of boost and all wheel drive....finally figured out I could brake boost from a roll so that's been my new bad habit.

Crazy, I’m 6’6”, I have been on numerous road trips, including the loop from PNW down through Moab, Vegas and back up the coast and I have no complaints about my truck. Plenty of headroom, I don’t have seat jackers. I have the seat all the way back of course and the back reclined a couple clicks, and all is good. I don’t know, maybe there is that small difference between an off-road and a sport.

Some vehicles come with a "2nd gear start" feature for slick conditions. I've never tried it, but maybe you could go to S and put it in 2 if you are sitting at a stoplight.

Added a dash camera for those pesky drivers these days. Tired of not having evidence and getting run off the rd by18 wheelers.

I've travelled many miles in my days, and I can't recall a single time I was ever run off the road by an 18 wheeler...

    Maybe they aren't the problem?

Obviously you weren't there so what do you know? You must drive an 18 wheeler? This was the first time it ever happened to me. The camera isn't just for those big rigs but for all drivers including you....

Agreed. On my cross country drives, they are always the safest and best drivers on the road.
