The number of people who don't know how to properly merge into highway traffic is astounding to me. I see it every day. They figure they and their sense of entitlement are getting onto the highway, so just floor it and everyone on the road has to make special allowances for them. It doesn't work that way. I've seen many people end up ran off the road or stuck on the shoulder because of this behavior. Then, they blame everyone else for it.

There’s an equal amount of people that drive in the far right lane and don’t get over a lane, when there is no traffic, to allow people to merge.

Yes, I agree. And, most of the time they do that purposely.

There's a comedian (can't remember who) that has a skit about people driving like @sshats cuz cars r too safe now. There's not the same consequences there use to b. Yrs ago u total a car, there was a good chance u die. Now if u total one, there's a good chance u walk away without a scratch.

I thought it was thought provoking, and maybe partially true. But if I was putting $$ down... I'd lay it on distractions and a bit of entitlement. There's too much "me vs the world" and not enough community/ our world...

For sure this is true! I think it’s a combination of all the above. Just yesterday I was passing a semi on a divided highway, I got to 68 in a 60 to do it with nobody behind me, the semi was going about 57-58. All the sudden a F-350 came flying up behind me from out of nowhere. Right when I turned my blinker on to get over with a safe gap, the F-350 decided I was taking way too long and cut the semi off to get by me flipping me off then cutting me off…just to end up the car ahead of me at the exit, he must have been embarrassed because when I got behind him, he used the shoulder to turn and not wait for the car in front of him, but was content sitting there until I got behind him.

I could see being frustrated at left lane campers but that’s surely wasn’t what I was doing, just impatient people that think the world owes them something.

My number one is people who can't maintain a consistent speed, especially the ones who match your speed as soon as you show them a bumper.

Number one is people that seem to feel entitled to drive in the left lane regardless of traffic or speed!

I would bet that at 60%, maybe even 75% don’t know that when they come screaming down an on ramp to get on the freeway, they are the give way vessel, meaning they do not have the right of way.

I took an Uber home from the airport, had a long stretch of two lane hwy. this guy stayed in the left lane. I mentioned to him twice, how he was pissing off the people going around him on the right. His answer was “please sir, don’t tell me how to drive” in his heavy foreign accent.

And the other 25% try to enter the highway at 30mph below the posted speed

Or come to a complete stop waiting for a clear lane like they are at a T instead of a merge lane then try and merge from a dead stop

Meanwhile, out in the sticks, the people who feel extremely entitled are doing 55 in a 35 and passing on a double yellow line.

If I'm only doing 42 in the 35, they will tailgate

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
I've always made it a point to not stay alongside other vehicles when possible, especially any large trucks or trailers and after 36 years of driving (25 of them commuting an hour each way with many miles of it on the interstates) I can say I've not been run of the road by someone I'm "pacing". I'm sure some of it is good luck but some is good habits on the road.
