That's a good idea; maybe I'll do that next time I have to take it apart. I'd also like to find some bolts w/ handles (many are available but not easy to find the right thread and length) for convenience, even though a wrench works just fine.

Thanks for this. I'm getting kind of tired of my shovel rolling around in the back

Just remember to grab some quick fist mounts at the same time. And save some time to get the nuts lined up. I wonder if I could have started the bolts/nuts and then slid the whole bracket in from the end of the rail to make it easier. Not sure if that might work.

Got my truck undercoated with fluid film over the weekend. Hopefully keeping this '23 rust free for a long time.

Love my Borla Y. Such a better design and pretty noticeable increase of power on the top end.

Mine had fitment issues on the passenger side (about 1/4" too short) and the oem round gasket would not fit over their larger piping. I reported it to them, but no idea if they altered it. Did you run into those issues as well?

My install for it: drizzohs '21 off-road build | Page 8 | Tacoma World

Length seemed good, No issues attaching Y outlet to the stock muffler. I did purchase the larger gasket that you referenced on your install, but it was not necessary and the stock one fit fine.

Cool maybe they altered it since getting my feedback. Glad you had a smooth install.

Need help!! I was installing the ECGS bushing tonight. Disassembly going well. Got the driveshaft popped loose and went to pull it out. Guess it wasn’t all the way free and I pulled too hard. Now it’s sprung and won’t go back into position. (boot on diff side) Can this be fixed? How?

    IMG_2894.jpg

I did get the old bearing out and the new bushing in. Ready for re-assembly.

Found a full set of "luckyman club" open box on Amazon warehouse for $170.

I gotta say not bad at all for 100% genuine Chinese pleather. Im actually fairly impressed with the fit and as long as they hold a couple seasons they will probably be money well spent. I was fully planning on having to return them but i guess not.

Still got the back 40 side to do as had to quit before the mosquitos put me on life support. I'll see if i can grab a pic or two once they settle.

Purchased a Kidde 1-A/10-B-C 2.5 lb fire extinguisher for the truck. I have a 7 lb home extinguisher but it is bigger (obviously) than the 2.5 lb one and the 7 lb probably only mounts in the bed to a rack. Lowes sells a $15 "easy to unclamp metal strap" mount.

Now ... how to mount it in the truck at driver feet? DesertDoesIt has a molle plate for $110. Could mount that spring-clip holder to that molle plate. Or could spend $110 on the DesertDoesIt pin-closed mount for fire extinguisher for a total of $220.

Or "bracketeer" mount that is NOT molle panel and will just hold the fire extinguisher for $60.

Examining the same problem. I am wondering if "Quick Fists" will work to secure the extinguisher to the molle mount under the driver's seat. I am looking at the Element extinguisher though.

After getting the Desert Does It molle mount, I am wondering if one couldn't just 3D print a mount, and reinforce the mounting tabs with metal?

Speed of removal is key. QuickFists look like they may take too much thought in a pinch to get it out. The DesertDoes it has a single pin you pull to quickly/easily release two holding rings, and the DDI holder comes in three sizes to match the width of the extinguisher. Still ... $110 for the pin/ring quick-release system vs a spring-circle-clamp for the $15 model ... may be quick enough even in an emergency.

If you aren't set on the extinguishers that you have picked out, this First Alert one fits inside the door cup holders for really easy access.
I have one in all 3 of my cars.

I went with the entire Desert Does It setup and a Halon fire extinguisher. I am very happy with it and forget that it is down there, in respects to losing leg room.

If you are mounting an Element on a molle panel, they sell a sleeve designed specifically for that: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BS5C8L4N

Not encouraging wanton spending! Turn in your TW card immediately!:facepalm:

I guess I wanted something a little bigger ... even if just 8-10 seconds. The 7 lb one for my home is not long much longer but is just like the car extinguisher ... cover my retreat of help get another out of a burning vehicle (hopefully with a few more extinguishers on hand to extend time a little).
