Fr pass door handle replace, Tyger step rails and soft bed cover, DDSS3 fogs, TRD skid, OR front tow hook, SokieTech hood struts, fr seat covers (neoprene), metal oil filter housing, magnetic oil plug, Cyclone under hood lights, Blue Sea Systems 5025 Fuse Block ST Blade 6 Circuit with Ground and Cover, Blue Sea Systems 60A DC Panel Mount circuit breaker.
BLUF: Probably have 20K miles on the 04465-04090’s now (replaced in April 2023) and I haven’t had any trouble with them stopping or making noise.

I used the 04465-04090 part number pads from toyotaeompartsonline for $68 in 2021 (for those paying attention, yes I had them for about 2 years before installing). Just checked and they’re $72 (the AZ200’s are $48).

The front has made noise since off the dealer’s lot in July 2018. Dealer assessment of noise is “pad release”. Kind of a click only when moving from PARK as opposed to taking off from a stop at a light. i replaced the brake caliper pins (90240-06158, about $3.50 each now) when replacing the pads thinking that might remedy - NOPE.

After driving around in the snow for a bit, I considered how bad of a headache this purchase would be.

It depends on the transmission, but these Kits I use are not for electronically controlled transmissions... Hard to put a price on it, it took me two hours alone just modifying
the 1-2 governor valve, lots of hand filling, drilling, etc etc... If you can not due it yourself and not a very close friend, you would be better off buying a reverse manual valve body from a builder... lol
    I used a TransGo TF3 kit...

With mine no, it is in whatever gear you put the shifter in, D (3rd gear) is 100% in 3rd, 2nd is in 2nd 100% of the time and 1st is the same... Zero automatic shifting...
I used the stage 3 full race kit, now I can take the valve body back out and back apart and convert it to a lesser stage 2 kit that while in drive still act as an automatic, but if you put it in 2nd, then it will hold 2nd and same with 1st...

That is a safety thing for most automatics to keep you from over revving the engine and the drums in the transmission... I have a rev limiter that I sometimes bounce off of by mistake cause it hits the rev limiter really fast and it can be hard to hit the 2nd just before it hits the rev limiter... Make no mistake, I have pushed a push rod through the rocker arm... lol
If you are talking about an electronic controlled transmission (which most vehicles on the road today are) then it is all in the TCM programming or tune for when and how it shifts...

I am running a basic 3 speed non lock up trans, but my buddy is wanting me to help him (teach him) how to build up his engine and transmission, maybe re-gear it and build the T-case.. Here is what I want to do to his 700R4 transmission...

minor, TRD skid plate, front recovery points, Regken mud flaps, rear diff breather, AC drain pipe extended. Upgraded sound with active sub woofer, tonneau cover, CB radio.
Finally, 4 years after replacement of
OEM speakers with JL audio (all 6) and adding Kenwood powered compact subwoofer ( HU same, 2019 entune premium plus)-
and noise proofing of back wall of my access cab
I have Kenwood KAC 8405 amp installed. Whatta difference! Feels like blurred black and white picture turns to fully coloured HD!
(Just example, how it feels lol, I'm talking about the sound). And power... With my screwed up ears now I need lvl 25 instead of 40
    driving highway speed.
I like the result, doing the job for me.

yeah i can't see but maybe <1% of the builds on this site needing a MVB. I had one in a ford lightning and another in a fox body w/ a vortech and nitrous but for these trucks the expense and loss of functionality you're better off w/ a manual trans.

What’s wrong with calling it 1/8”? Why does the tire industry mess with the fractions?

Very true, but again, it would be a tune for the AC60E/F trans not a MVB as it is 100% solenoid shifted...
I bet the fox body was pretty bad ass...

confusion maybe.....tire jockeys are unable to simplify fractions
when it comes to tires though if i read 1/8 tread i wouldn't know what that should look like but 4/32 i know

dart block, z304 headed 302, solid roller, cage, etc....
wasn't as fun as my last one, SVO block 408 w/ dart 225 heads and a 6 speed and cold AC. always fun when an all motor car spooks the local roll racers.

I didn't see your earlier post about the solenoid actuation, very cool info, thanks...enjoying the deeper technical discussion.

Because it is industrial standard to measure tread depth in 32nds of an inch, DOT states that 2/32 or less is unsafe, so still legal at 3/32, most passenger tires come new with 10/32 to 12/32 of tread.. It's just easier... lol

I'm a Mopar guy, but mad respect to any hot rod and now I'm  on that combo...

Yeah, I like getting technical sometimes also...

I hope I never have to open up my Taco trans, but I really want a bad core, maybe cracked case or bell or something so I can go deep into it, it looks pretty simple compared to some, and the valve body as well, I also want to build a CVT, I am not a fan of them, but they look neat inside.. lol... Just don't want to have to buy the special tools that I don't already have for them...

SW Ontario expecting 4-5cm more this weekend so no modding for several more weeks. Therefore, I did some modding on my power reclining sofa. Upgraded the control button with a USB port and it is illuminated.
