I’d be worried about people throwing trash in it and dumpster divers rooting through the bed, or the trash truck trying to pick mine up to empty it if I got one! :bananadance:

That's funny, Wesley Chapel Toyota is my neighborhood dealership. I've purchased a few cars from there. ;)

I only buy "important" parts like fluid filters and filters from a Toyota dealer. Usually means you get the real deal OEM and not a knockoff. Not worth it to me to save a few bucks on some things.

So you guys in the GWN have to decide between dirty Tacos or locked up brakes? Is it the parking/emergency brake or service brakes freezing up?

From what he said in an older video, it doesn't matter on the oil filter cause they are not OEM anyway... And from my 30+ years as a technician, air filters don't matter much... but for warranty reason, I am sticking with all dealer parts...

    https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/?g...VLBzk50p1v5ZQbmwg46s68gr0Cxxrpw8aAkdhEALw_wcB

I think that is the one right??

Funny thing is they, so far, have the highest shipping cost, and they are probably the closest to me...:rofl::rofl:

    Your welcome sir..

They have all been, so far on brake pads anyway, very close in price, but that free shipping is a game changer!!!! :bananadance::dancingbacon::bowdown:

I will end up comparing prices to the door on all of them... lol

Thank y'all for the parts places so far... I am book marking them all...

Water stays in the rear brake drums in cold winters even if the snow melts. Minor spots on the brake shoes can even rust to the drum ridiculously quickly . Best is to get all water out and maybe drag the rear brakes a little to remove water.

Same thing on the Taco rear drum brake system...
Loosely speaking, It uses an e-brake lever to spread the brake shoes apart to contact the drum to hold the vehicle, a few parts in there can get wet and freeze, including the cable...

I get that part. I was referring to the parking brake having the shoes tight up against the drums vs leaving the vehicle in park (in gear with manual transmission) and the shoes floating in the drums.

Same happened to me last year, I'm in the Fraser Valley. Even in 4 Lo I couldn't break it free, had it towed to the dealership and they repaceded cables, drums etc for FREE 22 OR

I've only used parking brake when parking on really steep inclines. Used P in auto and 1st in manual. Even when using park brake apply it snug but don't do it gorilla tight. Never a problem for me ever in 50+ years.

Installed the AJT Design oversized cup holder (Gen 3 AT). Coming from a Gen 2 MT, which from the factory has cup holders that hold Nalgene-sized water bottles, this was a nice addition to my Gen3. Highly recommended, follow the instructional video on the vendor's site. USB outlet is usable with a Nalgene in place.

Was away for several weeks and was working my way through unread posts. Crazy how much better they are with the H9. Makes you wonder why they don't come from the factory that way

It's all good.. Probably cause the H11's supposed to last 4 times longer and the average customer would be calling Toyota junk for using cheap parts, and they would be having to replace them under warranty... o_O

It hurts my soul when someone I'm riding with slams it into park and the entire weight of the vehicle rolls into that lil parking pawl.. <shudder>

My sequence is foot on brake -> shift to neutral -> parking brake on -> foot off brake and then shift to park..:crapstorm:

I got a sticker and some cool valve stem caps...
Yes!!! The parking pawl is miniscule compared to the trucks weight. I always engage the PB b4 I put the truck in park!!!

PB is cheap to fix. A transmission is not.

Guys, I'm being told, that the correct part number for this item, for my truck, is 15620-36020. @N64_Wallmaster did you run up against this when purchasing your filter housing?

Scratch this. I phoned them, they were trying to herd me into purchasing the plastic housing, I said no no no I want the metal housing. So I got it all straighted out, thanks folks...
