I really meant in person as both colors are hard to judge from a picture but I have only seen 1 picture on here with the combination and it looked like a very different bronze than the one used by toyota and the method wheels I am considering. I havn't dug through every thread though. If there are any pics I have missed feel free to send them my way. The one I saw looked great.

Guess I'll see soon enough. I checked my oil again today.. I added 1/4 qt just because it was a tick below the full mark, but I already knew that wasn't going to make any difference... Started it up this afternoon at a balmy 20 degrees and still got the Low Oil Pressure message... At this point I will certainly be picking up a new filter or 2 (the ones I have certainly do look exactly like OEM filters I've used for the past 5 years and they have the Toyota Lexus Holographic image as well).. I mean who TF would knock off a $5 oil filter?

I guess the cold start rattle and/or the low oil pressure warning are my new normal until my next oil change which will be in about 3500 miles. I have had zero issues for 5 years and now this. Last 2 oil changes with these janky OEM knock off filters ...and all the sudden all I have are concerns....

We haven't had much sustained cold weather here in the past 5 years since I purchased this truck. I've managed to keep it rust free (for the most part) , but we haven't had much snow so, in turn we haven't had much salt/brine.

We've had snow on the ground for a month now and the roads are covered with liquid death so I went to the DIY car wash today because they have HIGH pressure HOT water... Brought my own soap and got all the salt off the truck. Should have taken before pics....my truck was completely white.
    IMG_20250123_155725853_HDR.jpg

I was also able to spray off the undercarriage (no pics again)... Sprayed everything underneath with purple power and drove straight to the DIY car wash.

There's so much damn salt everywhere that it was even caked up under the hood and throughout the engine bay....had to give it a quick rinse with that hot water.
    IMG_20250123_155838899.jpg

I generally don't do the car wash , but in cases like this it's $10 for 20 minutes of high pressure hot water... I was able to wash my entire truck, undercarriage, and under the hood in below freezing temps ... Not a bad deal... Just gotta work quick and bring your own soap/wash mitt/bucket.

The interior.... That's a different story ... It needs attention

Yeah they fake the spin ons thats why i wont buy them on Amazon ebay etc i just go to the dealer pick up 2-3x at a time. Its $5 bucks a filter at the dealer besides the convenience no cheaper online and not worth getting a fake. I said the same faking an oil filter but they wouldn't do it if there wasn't money to made. Pick up one of these i always made a mess pulling the filter especially with a knock off aluminum trd front skid. This funnel fits squeezes in just right, crack the filter loose, throw the funnel under and spin it off right into it. With that and a valvomax drain plug oil changes are a breeze. Its been pretty chilly here in NC too 12-13 at night and my 2.7 starts quiet haven't seen a low oil light. I only use 5w-30 with a OE spin on, could help i have an agm battery with a tune that ups the charging voltage even in this cold weather it has a strong crank.

You can change the oil filter without changing the oil, and I had rather change the filter now for $5ish than wait 3500 more miles with no oil pressure start ups, if it is a faulty oil filter... At least then you will know...

buying 3 oil filters to cover 15K miles, sounds more like 5K oil changes not 15K oil changes... ;)

You are allowed to have your opinion sir...
I understand that the owners manual says to change every 10K miles, but it also says the transmission has lifetime ATF in it...

I have pulled disintegrated parts of oil filter element out of 10-11K oil changes on vehicles... nope, not doing it...

I would suggest giving Dobinsons a look. Easily upgradeable and a good ride.
I've been happy with my setup over the past two years.
Exit Off-road has a great knowledge base too.

All this 3K, 5K, 10K, arguing....If you aren't draining yesterdays oil and putting in fresh oil every morning, you're just asking to destroy your truck.

    Respect my opinion
