The tacos originally come with plastic trim screws that thread into those holes. I would just reinsert the bolts from the steps back in there with some grease on them

Replaced a very annoying front drivers centre cap that was noisy as hell. Kept clacking all the time while in motion. Wasn’t as noticeable in the crappier weather but now that I’m driving with the windows down more often it’s relentless. I knew they were ridiculously priced for a simple pice of plastic so I put it off as long as possible. Replaced yesterday $91.00 after tax CDN. Purchased from local dealer.

    No more annoying clacking.

    upload_2025-4-27_22-27-27.jpg

I couldn’t find anything wrong with the old one pictured below. Was on firmly but would still rattle and clack.

Personally, maybe shorter bolts with grease on them , just to protect the holes and threads. I'm sure you could find plastic bolts if you went to a fastener store.

I replaced 2 of them…one that fell off and one the dealership damaged and tried to put it back on…but I noticed after inspecting my truck post service—they replaced it at no cost to me.

Cost was $62 at dealership but I found one online for $45.

I reinstalled the bolts with some anti-seize on them. Then sprayed woolwax since I am in an area that uses salt on the road during the winter.

I thought the same exact thing until I found out the step bolts I had bottomed out in the hole just fine. I been through a handful of different steps and took them all off. I still have the plastic OG screws but they wear out after too many in and outs so I just put the stainless step screws back in and snug them. Someday I’ll get sliders or make em

I have to say... I hate that Chrome Grill. Hate the Chrome Badges. Currently slowly De-Chroming mine.
BUT! You did a really good job of wheel choice that pulls the whole chrome aesthetic together very well. Can't believe I'm saying it, but it actually looks bespoke, intentional, and well put together. One of the few examples of chrome on a Taco that plays well. Just an outstanding job. And unique from all of us who have blacked out most of the chrome. 10 out of 10

Changed the cabin filter with a carquest one from Advance Auto. No pics as it took no exaggeration, 15 seconds in the parking lot before I even left.

After 16k miles it was time. I was surprised (maybe I shouldn't be) at the amount of crap on it, and I'm almost all city, no rural/trails/etc. It's too easy to not do every few oil changes.

Yeah that’s a nice easy one to do at home. Or in the parking lot lol

The shop I take my truck too for maintenance encourages people to do the cabin air filter on their own to save money haha

Did you have to trim back your stock lugs at all for the 1 inch BORA spacers?
I'm thinking of swapping my 1.25 Spidertrax for some 1inch BORA.

I need spacers to clear my stock wheels on some beefed up spindles and I want to keep the wheel offset as positive as possible.
