2025 Equinox tinted last month for same price....and place called Sandy's Custom Tint and Graphics in Morristown TN...they also Ado body wraps..I guess tint shops in my area are cheaper than most states..

They are still making them. They don't get much publicity though so they are struggling right now

 

Put a couple tanks of gas through the Taco today. 3-hour drive to my parents to replace a window air conditioner. Not so fun on a 92-degree day, but Mom is 86 and can’t change appliances like she used to.

Unlike the rest of us, the truck seems to like the hotter weather. I was getting 20 mpg in-town this week, and I got 23.5 mpg on the trip home.

 

Question for all you anal retentives:

I want to get the truck woolwaxed, and I also want to have the body detailed (paint correction and then ceramic coated). I want this thing to last forever, and I don't want to piss money down the drain doing things twice. I know that both of these processes are labor intensive and eventually will need to be redone, but what order would you do them? My gut says get the body done first, since the detailer is going to be very intimate with my truck. BUT I also want the woolwax to be a COMPLETE job, AND not have the detailing boogered up. Also curious how awful DIY maintenance is gonna be for me after the woolwax. TIA, and tell me what your experience has been.

 

I have no idea what woolwaxed is. I had my truck done with Modesta Diamond ceramic coating. It was not cheap. They kept the truck for three days to cure under ultraviolet light. They said if garage kept it would last for 8-10 years. No more waxing !!! But requires a different type of soap to wash it which can be bought over the counter. Have to stay away from car washes, hand wash only. Hell the dang bugs practically hose off now. It shines like a diamond when washed.

 

Is the beach bash an annual event @Kure Beach/Carolina Beach or something they do as a frequent thing?

The Woolwax shouldn’t be near the paint. I bought a Fluid Film kit on Amazon and did it myself last year. Nothing got on the paint. It does get all over the ground and your clothes so put plastic down and wear clothes you don’t care about.

Replaced rear fitcamx camera which had stopped working within past ~3 months. All good now.

 

I appears so, we got shirts and they say 7th annual. Was fun, extremely hot. We lasted 6 hours before we called it quits lol.

 

I've had woolwax on my truck for almost 5 years now and I recoat it yearly.

Working on the truck with woolwax applied means you will get messy. Routine maintenance, like oil changes, aren't bad but I would suggest any mods you want to do, do them first before woolwax. Such as suspension, running aux wiring, armor. It's not as bad as working on a rust truck it just sucks trying to unbolt stuff with slippery wax everywhere under the truck.

Also I would do the woolwax first before ceramic coating, that way if there is any over spray it can washed off by the detailer.

What was your fix, I have the same front and rear cam?

 

Went from 285/75/17 Yokohamas to 285/75/16 KO2. Smooth and much better gas mileage
