Getting ready to start the rebuild on my truck, everything I touch will be getting replaced with new. Been collecting parts for about two years.

New OEM drums painted. 3 coats primer, 4 coats paint, 4 coats clear. All VHT high temp aerosol. Used this on my stock drums with very good results.

It appears my LED OEM fog lights are different. One has a chrome inside and the other is smoked. Any ideas?

I assume you did not have a laptop at this time and that is why you had to buy a new one, or is there something special needed and that is why you had to buy a new one??

Sorry, I thought laptops were about like smartphones now a days, most people had one... :anonymous:

Not me. I have a 14", I think, tablet and a desktop. I doubt I use the laptop for anything but tuning the truck.

Today I finally had a free day, so I insulated my front doors to match my rears that I did a few weeks back. Also swapped speakers out. Sheesh, they're tiny magnets. Then did the dash ones as well.

I would highly recommend a plastic trim removal tool for this. These specific mid tweets also require trimming of your factory plastic speaker grill. Just a little though.

Next installment will be the Alpine 4x45 and the small under-seat 8", and accompanying wiring.

What did you not like about the KDMax 9? I had the same and had my tuner remove it so I could get it smogged because I was paranoid of failing it. I actually like how it drives now without the tune so never had it reinstalled. I didn’t like the throttle sensitivity mostly. I bought a VF Tuner but I still need to get the software license but I’m on the fence if getting the OTT tune is worth it since I like how it drives now. I do have 4.88 gears so I may just not need a tune. Who knows.

Just swapped out my stock round shift knob to this Rogue shift knob from Tacoma Lifestyle. So far, it feels a lot better when I'm shifting and it was definitely worth the money.

Finally got my OEM bed mat off the marketplace for $80. I see why everyone raves about them. Love it!

The biggest issue really didn't have to do with the tune itself I guess. When I first got it I had 235/85 tires on and went with their hottest tune. With those narrow tires it seemed like I was squealing the tires a little bit more than I would like. So I went back and went down a couple of notches and that seemed to work fine. Since then I went to 285/75 tires and that really caused the truck to lug. It was like driving a boat. I went with a medium/spicy OTT tune and that really turned things around. Plus it addresses that little bit of lag you can get when you first get into the gas that KDMax did nothing for. The biggest advantage of the OTT tune is it actually changes the shift points in the cruise control which again the KD Max did not. Where I drive is pretty hilly and on the interstate running 75 to 80 it would shift down into third gear. Now fourth gear is as low as it will go. Driving the truck is actually a pleasant experience again.
