What do you mean there's an air filter for the cabin?

This is from my wife's tundra. She might not have replaced it in 8 years hahaha.IMG_6685.jpg

That filter would make me more concerned about rats and mice in the truck.

We have rats AND mice in that truck, my truck, and my car. Fortunately the manufacturers don't use cellulose wire harnesses anymore, so we've never had an issue of them chewing.

We have a lot of wildlife, so some of that might be mice hiding to eat meals in peace. They leave a ton of shells from their meals of pinons. But the bulk of that is needles falling into the cabin air intake under the windshield. [Edit: looking closer, I can see some chewing on the filter, but it looks like they gave up. They were probably trying to chew stuff to get bedding material, and you can see some of that on the edges. One might've been attempting to build a nest here a long time ago, as you can see some nest material on the edges, but probably got interrupted by us driving before it finished. I've looked to see if I can find a good place to put a mouse-proof screen, but this filter seems to keep them out of the cabin reasonably well.]

We've learned to not leave food in the vehicles. And to check for nests periodically. If we drive every day it wouldn't be as common. But this truck hasn't been driven in a week, and I did evict a wood rat building a midden on top of the engine! (Wife is a biologist and all these animals were in her area of study. We had a good chuckle.)

Why are you making me laugh this early. This is hilarious. I seen a Subaru outback with a ladder last week. Had me confused.

    @MGMDesertTaco

damn I hope not. We haven't had any issue in 15 years, other than finding out I'm allergic to mice!

Also I discovered a peppermint spray that helps keep them out of the trunk areas, which is where they like to build nests. Kept them out of my car, and it's not an offensive smell to me.

edit: in my gen 1, I used to have to clean them out of the hamster wheel AC fan frequently. Finally glued a metal screen in front of the intake.

Got her standard vtails in. Took advantage of the 25% off 4th of July sale and finally pulled the trigger on buying them.

When pulling the 3 light-cables, note which one is top/middle/bottom. The modified behavior of the lights relies on getting each cable back in the right place.

And do not skip the extra resistors they provided ... some have and just have to go back to install them.

Not today but since last weekend washed and cleaned out the interior over the weekend. Monday evening changed the oil and installed a Fumoto valve for less messy oil changes on the future and making it easier since im now over 50 but still think im 25 most days.
Got my state inspections done Wednesday and it passed now the 5th year not needing anything like brakes yet.
Got all the tires rotated and balanced Friday.
All caught up in maintenance for now... The truck so far has been the most reliable trouble free vehicle I've ever owned.

I saw a 4runnner the other day with a tiny spoiler up on the back. Now I wonder if they knew it was there.

35k maintenance. Oil change and tire rotation. While the front tires were off I took the time to install Duro Bumps bumpstops. These should've been the minimum to come straight from the factory.

Finally got around to throwing a new filter in since I'm not sure if I want to keep the "reusable" one but figuredit was about time, I didn't realize how dirty it was!! I'm not sure if it's related but my MPG went up by a little more than 1...

Finally painted my Kicker Subwoofer Covers myself, and then decided to also paint my Dash Accessory Mount the same way.

Plus I also installed the Rough Country Tonneau Cover.
