Installed a truly 100% anytime fog light mod on my truck.

Only $25 and a little bit of wiring.

I spliced in a Roadmaster 790 Hy-Power Diode (second picture) into the fog light wiring right next to the radiator (third picture, hard to see since I forgot to take a picture before I wrapped it back up.) That way I can run them through the OEM controls or switch them independently through my AuxBeam controller without back feeding power through one of them.

Now I can run my fogs with high beams or no head lights or anytime I feel like (first picture key on, auxbeam switched with all other lights off ((sorry about the sun flare in the picture, going for the JJ Abrams look))

This is the one you want if you don’t want it to wrap to the corners. Just the hood.

I purchased a new Hefty Fabworks Banshee front bumper from facebook marketplace. For a pretty well know offroad fab shop, there is definitely some manufacturing issues. Several cracks in the aluminum welds. The recovery point openings are too small as well. I need to cut over 1/2" of material off the top to be able to fully bolt the faceplate on and have an even top-to-bottom gap. I am debating on getting this fixed or just painting and going on.

I’ve been able to purchase from sellers and I don’t have a high message count. I’ve just had to send messages direct to the seller because I don’t have the post number to reply directly to the thread for the parts being sold.

With how much I see you around you’ll be at 50 in no time. I started posting on TW to see if I could get a goofy scooped hood but stayed for the people. https://www.reddit.com/r/ToyotaTacoma/s/KjrRmdVEKW As for the other issue you’re having might be worth checking out. Also Car-part.com has some taco parts.

And just 17 more post and you can play in the BST part of the forum... lol

I am just gonna say it, I would be scared to do much of anything with those welds you showed in the 1st 2 pics, they look like someone with zero training of any kind (not even a YT video) tried (and I mean tried) to weld that, the welds have no penetration to them... To me it just looks like a knock off by someone that has never welded before...
    Sorry...:anonymous:

The aluminum section is a faceplate that isn't structural to anything. It definitely isn't a knock-off. Unfortunately, i see this quality pretty frequently at work with aluminum fabricated pieces. Suppliers turn-and-burn. When i complain they usually replace it. Even though I'm not the original purchaser (it's still a new part, never installed), I am going to reach out to Hefty Fabworks. Aside from the welds, the facepiece wasn't even test fit because it can't even be bolted down all the way. In the least, they should know there are some quality control issues to address.

there are some places were the bead didn't penetrate the base plate.

Edit: I now usmc2msu see answered your question, thanks for that!

Not sure, I wanted the edges protected so that didnt even occur to me. The only other one I saw that was a little more low profile was the AVS Aeroskin, which uses double sided tape. Guess weathertech may be slightly different?

But the weathertech looks the same as the AVS in this thread?

    Not sure if that's helpful?

Body Armor Stealth Front Bumper. Extended Brake Lines. Greddy Shift Knob. More to come of course.
Bag on Rough Country all you want but, they have been incredible with product support. Long story short, I have a 30" Black Series Light Bar in my lower grill. The first one showed up and looked fine. Had it on the truck for a month and every single screw hole in the lense had shattered/spawled from being over tightened duing assembly. Even the screws were stripped. They replaced it. No questions asked. The second one has been on the truck for a while and started condensing moisture. They sent a replacement. No questions asked. Pretty impressive customer service. Quality? Um...well...;)
We will see how the third one does.

Got all my rear lights on LEDs and now working, license plate lights, reverse, stop, parking and turn signals in red, all bulbs from Sylvania ZEVO Ultra Bright LEDs , reason why they weren't working was the splicer wasn't cutting through the thicker yellow wire driver side and thicker blue wire passenger side, no hyper flash now

Got some steel wool and rubbed down on rust pitting on the trd exhaust tail pipe, sprayed with high heat exhaust paint

Put on my fuel cap holder

Waiting on vanity mirror LED lights

    follow up…

installed the kill switch. Everything worked fine for a few days. Then I got a check engine light for “crankshaft position sensor”. Truck ran fine before that and no check engine light. Uninstalled the kill switch and codes cleared. Truck runs fine now. Be aware if you’re looking into this product. Sent a email and now I wait for their response.
