Guys, what happened here? Has this happened to anyone else? Was filling the gas tank and noticed this area looked a little dirty, hopped into the bed and inspected closely, I think this trim piece fell off. Anyone got the part number?

    WhatsApp Image 2025-07-31 at 7.51.52 AM.jpg

WELL, I installed a noodle, and after inspection I find the plastic sitting on the noodle. I'll extract it and see about getting some double sided tape, that is effective, to handle it.

    Retrieved!!

Question is, should I get new double sided foam tape, or use this weatherstrip adhesive? This stuff is super-strong as anyone familiar with it would probably agree.

Looks like the oem foam tape was grabbing on 1/4" or less of the plastic trim.

Post here to get the right eyes on it. Just provide a good picture of your truck with a similarly angled picture of the wheels you want for best results.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
See, that's why people bag on Rough Country. You've now installed that light 3 times. It's nice that you keep getting replacements, but why should you need them? Kinda tells you something when they can send you 3 of them when you only bought 1.

I bought 1, installed and forgot about it. It comes on every time I hit the switch.

Why are you selling it, what's wrong that you are parting with it?
, and how much of your truck did you have to cut?

    Have all the hardware? Price?

That makes me very leery of installing that kill switch now. Glad I hadn’t bought one yet. What I did to my Yukon was locate the right wire leading from the ignition to the starter and installed a toggle switch, which worked just fine. Glad your codes went away and your truck is running fine now.

6 quarts of 0W20 yumminess. New engine air filter. Also took pictures of what probably happened to the skids yesterday when on the "soon becomes impassable" offshoot of what is mostly a "green" trail. I was NOT JUST hearing things apparently.

I need to remove the engine skid plate using the ramps to do the front differential ... 35k miles. I will get the rear differential and transfer case as well.

    So pretty boring but!
    Drove to work again.
Wasn’t sure about the third gen.
    I liked my 08 and my 12!
I’ve liked them all but think this is my favorite so far. 0 issues love the way it looks.
I can’t walk away without looking back at her!
It’s like buying a divers watch in case it gets wet doing the dishes.
My daily makes me smile every day!
    Done some off-road and snow.

Loving that aggressive wheel and tire setup. 285/75/16s on what offset and width? (I'm in the market. Probably going 17x9 -38 SCS F5 with a 275/285 I was gonn'a go all mad tyte JDM but, cannot justify $4,000 for a set of Volks...those days are gone...)

I would not have used them but, the price was right. ($0) All my other lighting is Rigid Industries and I've never had an issue.

The wheels aren’t in production anymore.
    Level 8 wheels and 285/75/16s, 0 offset 8” wide I believe.
Buddy from work came by running 37” looking at 40 on his jeep.
We are buds but come on dick!

Right? And those dudes have to put in the most minimal effort for those tire sizes. We gotta' do lift, spacers, CMC, weld, cut, smash, seal, repeat. After going aggressive on my 06' STI wheel fitment, I said I'd never do it again. And here I am with a CMC kit in my cart at Apache Off Road, a tool box full of cutting wheels and flapper disks, and shopping for wheels.

I finally got around to wiring up my stealth USB port (next to the radio, behind the bezel). A couple of months ago, I designed a mount and 3d printed it. It's been mounted since early spring, but now it has power!

    20250324_210141.jpg 20250322_162806.jpg 20250731_182930.jpg

And since I tapped power from the cigarette lighter, I pulled that and added another USB port with a voltmeter.

Its always nice seeing these posts.

I too am loving mine. Nearly a year of ownership now with my 3rd gen. And I too look back at her all the time. Im coming from a 1st gen that I owned since 2012. She was really starting to show her age though in regards to wear and tear with cosmetics and misc parts/components. And being used and abused.. Which led me to a dilemma of whether or not I should continue pouring money into her, or look into a newer truck. Decided it was too much work for my liking to get her in a state I'd be happy with, so I stopped spending money on her. Plus I could never fully trust her to be reliable enough due to her age, and with my age as im getting older now and wanted something newer and more reliable..

Eventually ran into more problems so I parked her and started perusing. Immediately found a gem and decided to pull the trigger.. Was never a HUGE fan of the 3rd gen. Ideally wanted either a 2nd gen or a 4runner. But so glad I got the 3rd.
Plus, ive always owned older vehicles and this is my first "new" vehicle. A 2016 with 41k, but she looked like she was brand spankin new. Ideally wanted a 20+ but the price was right for me and it was too good to pass up.

Was a really nerve wrecking experience too because the owner (a licensed dealer) lived in Wisconsin and drove the truck here, which he then used only for a couple months every year while he was here. His brother lives here tho and was helping him sell it while he was in Wisconsin, due to his wife developing cancer and thus needed the extra money.. Wanted me to wire him the money and mail me the title. Was really sketchy tho but he convinced me and i went ahead with it.. I realize it coulda been the worst decision of my life ($30k on the line) always hearing about scams and whatnot.. But it panned out! Ha. So ended up being the best decision I guess!

My 1st gen, back when she looked decent-ish. Ha. And the new 3rd gen.
