I may get the turtle wax hybrid next time i run out, I like being able to freshen-up the shine to fresh-applied every couple months, that's not really possible with the $100.00 applications.

None to speak of, just enjoying it for the moment.
With just two (2) days remaining on my factory warranty and I figured it was time to see what they could do for my wireless charging pad bubbling. They had one in stock and replaced it, the Service Manager said it was good timing since the replacement (plus installation) cost $1386.00! I had the oil/filter changed; brake system flushed and got a state inspection along with their 40-point multi-point inspection done as well. Interestingly in reviewing the forum string about the wireless charging pad bubbling issue it discusses the 2017 through 2021 with a TSB but is silent beyond that, so I was curious if I was going to have to go to battle over this, but as it turns out they were very familiar with the issue and made no issue resolving it. I haven't used it for about two years and during the first year I owned I tried it on and off but came to the common conclusion that it was pretty useless.
Now for my question, has anyone had their wireless charging pad replaced and had it bubble again? Curious if the replacement unit solves the problem or if it just postpones the same issue to a later date. I'd like to think Toyota actually solved the problem but I'm not so sure.
Second question: Does ceramic tint (or clear) really help with summertime cabin temperatures?

I've seen many people have multiple issues with that pad bubbling, but $1100 for that is hilarious. I never used mine and it bubbled immediately. I fixed mine myself and then unplugged it so it can never bubble again (since it's ALWAYS getting power). I then repurposed the Qi switch to control my footwell lighting. :)

Ceramic tint helps a ton while you're in the vehicle. It still heats up while parked but doesn't get nearly as hot and it blocks a lot of the heat you feel on your skin thru the glass. Until they came out with something better, it's all that's going on my cars. The only place I use the clear is on my windshields (70%) and it's pretty much invisible from the interior, the rest of my glass gets 20% or 5% depending on the application. Per my tint guy, darker is still better for blocking heat even with ceramic. That said, I still vent my windows and put up sunshades when parked because I live in AZ.

Thanks for the info, yeah I hear it can be the unit causing the bubbling or the heat inside the interior so was looking to mitigate both. My unit has an on/off switch but you're saying the unit has power either way? That's a terrible design but can't say I'm completely surprised. I'm seriously thinking of getting clear on the windshield and rear windows and then tinting the front side windows to the max allowed in my state to try and help the cabin heat. I use a windscreen shade but it only does so much. Might try some side window rain guards that would allow me to open the windows a bit too. Though I really don't care for them due to a reduction in vision, even if it's not much.

Yup, always powered (you can feel it being warm sometimes even when the switch is off), just not always actively charging unless the switch is on. I forget what the thread was called but someone pinned it out a while back and it's got 5 wires going to it and gets power as soon as a door is opened, or unlocked, or something that ridiculous. There was a sweet pnp option to replace it years ago that worked better but it is unavailable now.

One good thing about the ceramic tint is that it has really good clarity, so from inside the cabin it doesn't look as dark as it carbon tint does in the same darkness. It's hard to explain that without seeing it for yourself, but it is noticeably less invasive. Doing the full windshield also helps with nighttime glare if you have astigmatism or any other eye impairments. It's a must do here. I even had my 87 Supra done in full ceramic right after I picked it up.

There's tons of ways to do this. From putting a tube in like you said, and shoving the tip of your air nozzle in to create pressure, dual tubes with one coming from an air source, to diy creations like a weed sprayer with a tire valve stem inserted in the side. Or if you want, the expensive option/tool designed for this:

The cheap pump from harbor freight (or Amazon) works surprisingly well too. Transfers fluid really quick. This is what ive always used before. Just a little trickier to juggle the lines around is all. And get a tad messy when youre done and pulling the lines out.
    Screenshot_20250805_141347_Opera beta.jpg

Next time im due, ill be making one out of a weed sprayer myself.. I recently did my fluids and I was gifted a gear keg filler (which has a tire valve fitting) and planned to use it, but the fitting only works on smaller bottles, and i decided to buy the gallon jugs as its cheaper, then realized my problem when I opened the gear keg package. :facepalm:And some of those small bottles have different size necks on em too. I rigged mine to work with gallon jugs real quick tho. I had an oil pouch left over from when I did my ecgs bushing and I cut the threaded neck out, and inserted (and glued) it into the 5 gallon cap. Worked! Just went slow bc i was afraid of the jug exploding on me.:rofl:But the concept is there no matter how u do it. Just gotta create pressure in the jug you're using is all it is  Check youtube, there's tons of vids on diy solutions, including the diy weed sprayer (which i think might be the best idea, imo)

Been waiting to get mine done at the shop forever now. Apparently not many shops will do a relocate and only a chop. Understandable tho considering the extra work, vs how quick and easy a chop is.. But yeah, I should've got into welding myself. Did a little in high school.. But wished I'd stuck with it. Coulda had this done a while ago. Ha.
