PIAA Super Bass Horns. Ti hardware...blah blah blah Because ricer. I always preferred these over Super Tones. ST's are Super Shrill imho. And the "Made In India" ones are super cheap compared to the old German made ones. My German ones lasted a decade. The India ones lasted a year at best.

Trust me, kid wasn't invited to stay for dinner. We had a more in depth discussion about it also. The local stealership is just that, a joke. I normally order ancillary parts from Gladstone Toyota if I need OEM parts. Overall a minor life issue.

I find it easier and more efficient to give basic lessona and info up front to unknowledgeable person. Easier and better for their feelings than correcting and pointing out faults after. Was "kid" a relative. If a grandkid, mine have an open invitation for meals and snacks and don't need one every time. Either way it seems if he was doing you a favor at least you could have shown kindness and fed him. JMO

We have a great relationship. Kid was being used as generic term. They are always your kid regardless of how "adult" they are. Had a beer over it & we have a camp trip planned later this month. Thanks 4 your input.

Yep I agree. Idk what happened but lead/wait times seemed to have drastically increased all around in the last, oh idk, decade or so. Be it parts, shop time, shipping, turn-around times, even customer service replies!

I don't remember going through this same torture when the mod bug for my 1st gen was in full force some years ago.. I've had some good luck with a couple things recently since that bug has taken hold of me all over again with my recent 3G, but a large portion of mods have been put on hold due to INSANE lead times.

Things are looking up tho and I'm edging closer to being able to progress with some of the more serious mods. In hindsight tho, it has given me time to really think things through and reevaluate/revise some things. Along with planning future mods, which im sure I'll be at the mercy of more lead times yet again. Ha. But as I get older, I've learned to be a bit more patient and not be in such a rush, and that all good things will come in due time.

It was time for new tires

$880 seemed outrageous... My last set was $500 and another $120 to mount and balance.

The tire shop recommended these . 65k tread wear, great on-road mannerisms, good for various off-road excursions, 3 mountain peak snow rated, SL 116T for weight savings and MPG...

Never heard of this brand, but then again BITD I bought Toyo Proxes based on a tire shops recommendation and I hadn't heard of those either.

They are really quiet, but that's all I can say thus far

Nexen Rodian ATX 265/76/16 116T ... Time will tell if the tire shop pushed $880 worth of junk on me or did me a solid by recommending a good tire in the same general price range as some other tires I was looking at.

Cleaned the throttle body today @ 36,000, didn’t really need it yet but it was a nice day and was bored and wanted to try it for the future. It was a little dirty but not much. Local dealer did not have OEM cleaner by itself. Was told it only comes in a kit. Didn’t ask what a kit consists of, so I just stopped at an auto parts store and got some. One can of it will probably last me till I die. It was relatively easy.

Too funny, and glad you explained that. Without your above comment, I don't think anyone would have ever noticed.

The whole post is great, and your truck is looking good.
