Working on the badging today. Painting with a satin black for Tacoma badges and scrapped the rear v6 badge. After all, it's the little things that count! For those that have painted the grill, did you sand it first or prep with some self etching primer only?

Nice. Is there a good place to get these? I definitely want a set. I am leaning black though.

Over the weekend I painted the TRD OR grill with bedliner paint. I like the super flat color and textured look but we'll see how it holds up. I hope it cures well. I sanded it really good.

I had to spray the back side of the grill in order to get all the chrome off the front...as weird as that sounds.

Also replaced the stock horn with a WOLO Bad Boy. It has a higher pitch but louder...even though it doesn't come across that way in the sound samples below.

Need to get an attachment thingy so I don't have ground twisted around the bolt as seen below.

Here's a sound comparison. It sort of has a little Dukes of Hazard sound to it.

I just sanded the grill really good with my handheld sander. See above post.

Ihoopalot, how are you not rubbing with those 295's? I have a 6 inch lift with 285 70 and I barely clear with full lock. And if it was stuffed,I would be rubbing for sure.

Anyone know if a 4 runner TRD shift knob will fit a tocoma?

I have a 3" lift with the same size tires as you, no trimming, no rubbing.

Maybe it is the difference in wheel width and/or offset.

Had to search to catch that one. Yeah, just because it works don't mean it's done right.

Me too. I know a lot of guys here love the pro grill but if my DIY painted grill job fails I will opt for www.customcargrills.com/Custom-Toyota-Grills.asp just like the one below. Maybe with a matching color for the bezel.

Nice! I like customcargrills.com more than the Pro grill.
