The folks at ECGS that make our replacement bushing for the OEM needle bearing, recommend non synthetic oil for gears. They recommend

Lucas Oil 10042 SAE 85W-140 Heavy Duty Gear Oil

    image.jpg
They also provide surprising feedback on other brands of gear oil:

Those Tufskinz letters are great. They cost more but couldn't be easier to install correctly and they look really nice.

A few updates... I really like the look of painted seam welds because they just disappear. It's a little tricky to tape off and paint the part between the box and the cab but just take your time masking it off. I used DupliColor bedliner I had kicking around.

I haven't seen any grey carbon letters yet so this is how they turned out. Too flashy for me so I'm going with the black carbon because I like how it blends in. The grey looks pretty good with the lettering on the floor mats though. Let me know what you guys think.

TacomaVinylDecals.com will take you directly to my eBay store. My vinyl is easy to install, cost have that of the abs plastic, doesn't fill in the stamped letters, and will likely last as long as you own your Tacoma without peeling or cracking.
