Got the CPS recall done and the TSB for the leaf springs done!! After my 4.5hr wait I'm happy with my truck again! Finally doesn't SQUEAK and sound like some beater! As far as the CPS I can't comment on if it changed anything... least for now. But my truck has no more squeak!!!!!

Hey fellas, I’m about to upgrade my tires at discount tire company. Should I get their replacement warranty? Yeah or nah? I can get all tires covered for $45.

    stuff and things...
ask them to give it to you for free...or give you more money for your tires if you're giving them to them. You can always negotiate with them, when i had my camaro i got them to go from 1200 to 1000 when i had them replaced.

I have opened and closed the cover multiple times. Other than a bit of edge and/or corner trimming on the tape, no problem. We'll see what happens during the winter. Flex tape is supposed to stay flexible. Time will tell.

Depends on how close you live to the store. If the same town. I would. Never know when you'll pick up a nail or something.

Installed the TRD Pro grille today, which took less than 10 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised that not a single tab was broken. Also got rid of the chrome on the back bumper - bedlined.

Very nice truck. The lift is the perfect height. Did you have to change the drivers side needle bearing?

You have good tastes my friend!

That's exactly what I've been working on. No way I'd pay for another OE graphics package but found a place that makes a knockoff that I can have printed without the logos. I think another kit will be enough to let me fade it into the top. Hope to get it done next week!

I know I keep boogering up this thread with the bad boy Harvey killing my truck story.
I really appreciate the inputs, opinions etc I have gotten with my questions....greatly appreciated!
Just an update....info in case anyone experiences what I have.
I went to a local Houston Toyota dealer to go look at the Quicksand and to talk to a salesperson who I know as a personal friend. I told him about the pricing I got from the Toyota Truck Master Dean Malati at Toyota West in Columbus OH where I bought my Taco in April for $3500 off MSRP. Which I have a Quicksand TRD OffRoad DBL cab already ordered through Dean with a delivery date ~Sept 28.
My friend said there was no way to match that price in Houston since every dealer will be jacking their prices due to local demand....best bet would be to go outside of Houston and then he said better to go outside of Texas...
Also jacking gas up by 50 cents a gallon.
Capitalism at work....I get it....lived in Moscow Russia for 4 years....ask any Russian what Communism gave them, they will say equal poverty....just hate being on the ass end of it.
One other thing is the news is reporting how many people who don't have flood insurance. Typically you don't get flood insurance if you are above what they call the 100 year flood plain which is most of Houston. The people who did get water in their homes without that flood insurance are screwed...
I have two friends who had 4' of water....lost vehicles and house.
Also heard that over 1 million vehicles have been totaled by insurance...largest ever in US history.

So I'm pulling a bunch of upgrades off the truck, tires/wheels, etc.
I kept all the stock items, grille, intake, even the light bulbs which I had replaced with all LED's inclusive of headlights, tail lights etc.
Also bought stock alloy wheels and tires from another Taco owner less than 9k miles on them and the same exact Nittos G2's ($800 for wheels and tires) since insurance adjuster said if switching out it had to be stock or similar to what is currently on vehicle which happens to be FN TRD wheels and Nittos. My FN's and Nittos were $1500 total. Once I get the new truck will switch out and sell the stock ones....figure at best I'll break even or lose a few hundred. I'm looking to get some same size tires cheap to keep his Nittos when mine wear out.
The one thing I didn't keep was the little plastic radio knobs since I replaced these with the Hondo knobs. I did keep them up until a month ago...trashed them when cleaning garage....of course!
If anyone has those laying around....I'll buy them plus mailing.

    One other thing.
I have been looking for a replacement for my wife's Honda 2012 CrossTour since Harvey down graded it to a submarine that leaks......badly.
I looked nation wide since its not the most common car out there.
Generally Florida has cheaper vehicles...at least the CrossTour compared to the rest of the US.
Is that like common knowledge or par for the course from people who buy/sell cars etc?

The submarine....I have never had water over my curb after 2 other hurricanes, Rita and Ike, and 3 tropical storms. In less than 3 hrs this is what happened while I was sleeping. On my street alone 18 cars/trucks went under.

Went ahead and painted my fender flares with a impact resistant bed liner paint. Also removed the front valence.

Before flare update and front valence delete

After flare update and valence delete

My cheap ebay oem "PRO" taillights update. The seller refunded me with his apology. They were not Pro lights but were in Pro boxes. All is fine. Sure thought I found a deal. Oh well. Life goes on.
