What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I think they are all the same. I bought mine on Amazon. Fwiw, the door speaker's are $79 on crutchfield most sales. It's very rewarding swapping out the 6x9s to kickers.

 

GoPros are meant to provide good footage from a compact and rugged package.

Dash cams are meant to run 24/7 and don't have such compact requirements, or HD capabilities.

I have a bunch of GoPros and they get very hot and eventually burnout when shooting for long periods of time (24 hr timelapses many times...)

I have a blackvue 650 1 channel with the power-off addon thing and it's been great for a year now.

I just took off the front air dam and have seen a lot of questions on this. Haven't really noticed any difference in MPG's and to me, it looks a lot better. Pics below. You can see more clearance. I have a lift, but this definitely makes the front end look higher, more aggressive too.

If anyone is interested in buying my air dam, hit me up on here. It's sitting in the garage at the moment.

 

I was going to get the 2 channel but talked myself out of it.

My rationale was that if someone hit you from behind it would be their fault anyways...

I bought the 590W, I was wrong thinking it was the 650. The 590W has wifi so I can download straight to my phone, along with expandability later on if I chose to get a rear camera.

I paid around $230 with the power magic pro, and a hardwire kit.

You didnt ask the following but I am compelled to mention: $20, you get what you pay for. They are good enough in my opinion. They are kind of a pain to get strapped in (and I have small hands.) So if you plan on taking them out and washing them periodically, it is a pain. If you're not opposed to leather, that might be a good way to go. One time install, and they can be wiped down.

 

Wow. That’s a good deal. I’m actually thinking more for theft especially when I have the bed of the truck all loaded with stuff. It will mount in the backside of my roof rack. Just need to save for it because I have some other mods first in mind.

 

This is an excellent upgrade. Everybody should at least do this to their Tacoma (except those with the JBL system). Then, if you want even more, replace the front and rear door speakers.

 

How or what go pro mount did you use?

Finally got my Kicker tweeters installed. Super easy install and huge sound improvement.

 

Replaced Entune Premium with Pioneer AVH-2440NEX headunit. Massive upgrade in power, sound quality, and most importantly ANDROID AUTO with Waze!! Still cant believe a Japanese company in 2018 uses 2010 technology in their radios...This completes my audio upgrade with all speakers replaced, ********* sub-box, sound dampening in doors and rear.

Yeah I did everything except the headunit install. Thats past my patience level haha.

I compared the features of the 2440 with the 4400 and there's not much difference but cost is quite different.

 

Any loss of functionality with this? Can you still see MPG and all of that stuff?
