What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I love this forum. I've been reading it for years. It's not just a place for Tacoma enthusiasts, it's a place where I am reminded that there are still alot of folks who love their country, USA and Canada Love for our country is still cool here.

I have the Ruggedized version. Only about 12 nights/days stayed in it so far. TBH the only reason I bought it is because the price point. I bought at REI at their yard sale they do every quarter to purge returned items. Basically I left under $1k and still have dividend coming next year of around $100. I know Tepui in Santa Cruz, CA also sells floor models at a steep discount. Both of these options are less expensive but require picking up in person and/ or waiting all night to get first in line for yard sale. Also they are as is.

If you’re getting a great deal I think its worth it. If not, wait. Maybe considered used too.

The quality is top notch. Tepui definitely is a brand I’d consider high quality. That being said, I’ve never stayed in other RTT.

My only cons .... condensation inside, which I’m sure I need to learn how to vent better. Nothing a fan and better planning couldn’t fix.
I did have some leakage during heavy rains on a summer trip when I left the rain fly off. I think zipper placement was the only issue there, besides me not having rain fly on. It’s heavy AF and cumbersome to mount and store. I don’t have a garage.

Placement and rack to hold it is very important. Taller rack may keep you from using garage without taking it off. Ultimately I’ll be building an off road trailer to tow it with me on most trips.
It’s quick, but having to pack in and out every day sucks. Especially if it’s wet or snowy.

 

Really helps with the glare. Used to get blinded all the time

 

How hard was that to get where you wanted it?

I commute east in the morning and west in the afternoon. I've never seen so much glare off the hood.

 

Where do you live? What do you do about snow?? Sorry, like I said dont know much about these things.

No more glare now! Lay knifeless tape where u want it to be then lay a sheet of vinyl of your choice over it. Once done pull the knifeless tape to cut it and it’s done

Greeting TW family! I have a question. I have a 2017 Tacoma TRD Offroad. The picture is the gap in between the cab and the bed. There’s a strip of rubber attached to the bed half. Does anyone know what’s it called? I can’t find it on any diagram. Anyways I woukd like another for a project I’m working on.

YEP!! My hands looked like I fought a cat...I don't have a cat!

 

Got my @KB Voodoo Max Modular rack installed with some side and reverse lights. The modularity is pretty cool, but make sure you have an air ratchet. I'll probably also replace the hardware with some grade 8 at some point. Just don't trust stainless to hold up.

 

You have lots... it'll give you a warning once you hit zero that you need fuel. I had that happen the other day and coasted in and still had 5 litres of fuel left.
