Did they add a cover over the back of the sensor there?

I've finally received my first Meso mod! So easy to install, that I thought I did it wrong. I'm an official addict waiting to throw money at him as soon as I get that "in stock" email. Pics don't do it justice, but I damn near burned my retina after I hooked these up . . 20190515_181308.jpg 20190515_181409.jpg 20190515_182945.jpg

What exactly is the reason for this? Is it to prevent water intrusion?

    Exactly.

Sensor could detect water as an object and apply the brakes

Thanks. My dealership wouldn't touch mine, luckily I know how to put a piece of adhesive foam over the back myself lol.

Oddly enough there are 2 different Tacomas local to me that do the same thing. It doesn’t make any sense to me at all.

Replaced the chrome OEM exhaust tip with the OEM black chrome one.
Also installed the TacoVinyl grille with color matched emblem /w TSS. No more chrome left on the exterior! Loving it.

continuation from my front spoiler swap

Sadly the MBPR exhaust that was grabbed had been cut for a short bed truck so I decided to just order a new one from MBPR and it arrived yesterday. Swapped that sucker on in 20mins and kept on going with other stuff like replacing the broken mudflap thanks to @steiner9er . Met up with @Vietguy today and grabbed his Rav4 Blind spot mirror and switched out the drivers side glass. Going to be nice once @Tigers22 makes his way with some TacomaWorld Express delivery which will start the next projects.

Finally finished my sub box and put it back in. Now my truck smells of spray adhesive and bass.

Since I don't care to engage with dealer BS, I decided to cover my front grille TSS sensor to prevent water infiltration and errors.

Used a piece of rubber mat and taped it with 3M double sided tape, here's what it looks like.

    Cost: $0.00
    Effort: 15 minutes
    Result: Priceless
