Total hack job with the cut off tool and testing my 700W converter works awesome.

Installing the ExtremeAire Magnum compressor this weekend. Rear air locker down the road.

Currently at the shop getting my lift installed. Was quoted 3 or 4 hours... Currently at 6.5 and looking at about 8 hours total. It's just Bilstein 5100, OME 888, with an AAL in the rear. Has anyone else seen this take so long? Is it normal? I'm pretty new to lifts in general but kinda pissed the shop was so far off on their quote.

i've never done a lift, but i'm fairly confident me and a buddy could do that in a driveway in less than 8 hours...

My thoughts as well. Luckily they just came out and spoke to me, they're only going to charge for the original quote. I try not to be an ass when it comes to these things, but to have been quoted one amount, then it ends up being double, a good business should eat the cost. It sucks more than anything but it's part of running a business. In the end it's not the worst thing ever, it just sucks that my whole day is shot.

i agree, and they should offer you some sort of compensation unless they encountered issues with you truck that pushed the time back so far

Nothing with my truck. Apparently the lift itself is a little more complicated? I kind of knew going in that this lift wasn't as simple as a spacer lift or something, but I made sure to communicate that to them. All in all, they've been hospitable. I'm just busting out this weeks homework while I wait.

you just unbolt the old shit and bolt the new shit on right? isn't that what gives it the lift is the size of the new shocks and leaf pack?

The 'compensation' is that they're eating the difference. That's all they should need to do really.

They told me there are no instructions with the AAL which I didn't think they'd need instructions (none came in the box), then to bolt on the UCA's they had to do it in some weird way. I got all my stuff from Head strong which is what 90% of people here do so I have no idea why these guys are having such a hard time. It's a specialty shop too, not just some tire shop.

I'm thinking he probably means as far as the inconvenience of time. Which they offered to give me a ride if I needed to go anywhere or order me a sandwich so they've done what's necessary. Eating the price difference is one thing, but now my whole day is gone. I'm lucky I took the whole day off. I nearly scheduled an appointment with one of my customer's for this afternoon but decided against in case something like this happened lol.

Exactly. So many people here are entitled and demand the world when something doesn’t go their way. They are eating the difference which is actually huge. That’s a pretty big hit. I have heard UCAs require a little finess to replace.

nobody was demanding the world, but if a job takes twice as long to complete, and there's no significant issues from the truck that caused it, then it's in their best interest to offer something to show they care about their customers and keep repeat business/reputation. even something as simple as the offering a ride/lunch goes a long way.

No entitlement here, just a belief in peopling doing the right thing. It's not huge to eat the difference actually. I could not imaging being quoted MULTIPLE TIMES by multiple people for a 3 to 400 dollar job, then being handed a bill for $800. It would be robbery. Expecting the right thing to be done is not the same as being entitled.
