turn off contact sync and messages. It was that issue why I changed my unit to a Pioneer. That and I wanted Car Play.

    I just read this :https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250719617
on the apple forum just now...What a piece of....! Are you happy with your HU? Which one did you get? I might just go this route since black Friday is around the corner. Do you have any recommendations besides the one you got? Thx!

I got a killer deal from another forum member cause he upgraded. My unit is the Pioneer AVH-4200NEX, it’s end of life. But the newer one Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX is the same, and has wireless CarPlay/Android play. I’ve always been a Pioneer guy, so I stick with those. If you want a simple and easy upgrade, get the 4500nex through Crutchfield.com and they send the whole kit.

Will I lose some functionality of the OE unit?

If you get the Maestro Idatalink RR, it will retain wheel controls and actually give you more functionality. I had the Entune in my SR5, non premium. So it’s like 5 upgrades in one, and makes the stock speakers sound WAY better. Crutchfield will include it. I would have gone that route, but luckily I found a killer deal.

Stupid unrelated question...how do you bookmark a post?
I feel stupid for asking, but I don't know how.

On my tablet I hit the star on top of the page and it saves that page for me for future reference.

Edit. This can be done on phone, tablet, laptop and desktop

I do something similar on my iPad. I thought there might have been a way to save just one post in a thread and it would store it somewhere on your account.

Hey moderators, is there a way to save one post to some kind of storage section to be easily reviewed later? Thanks in advance.

That's what I do! Just screen shot it and it will be saved with your pictures. Then just remember to to look at all of those screenshots every so often. I have saved lots of tips and mods this way, have to catch up on some of them.
