Ordered RCI Off-road skip plates; engine, transmission, transfer, control arms, and rear diff. Hope they line up as nicely as the reviews! Anybody using these that can comment and have any install tips? It says all bolt on and no drilling so....

In spite of the weatherman calling for rain I got out there and installed the tailgate lock. Not a fun job. Hope I never have to do it again but I got er done. I could not for the life of me figure out how those damned metal tie wraps are supposed to work and finally gave up. ended up routing the cable as far from the muffler as possible. I'm satisfied it's far enough away that heat isn't going to be a problem. Time will tell. It started to rain just as I finished so my timing was right. Wasn't all bad, but almost.

I didn't 'do' anything to my taco today. But I did buy some stuff. Picked up a set of 6112's from rock auto because they were on sale. 600 shipped for those. Also bought a rear kit from wheelers which has expedition packs, extended brake lines, u bolt flip kit, fox 2.0 shocks for 640 shipped with the 17.76% discount + 10% off for the newsletter sign up. Looking at the hammer hangers too. Gonna be a nice Christmas in November when I get home from this deployment

Not my post, but just passing on that I got my dashmat from Angry Elephant. Works great at removing dash reflection on the windshield, protecting the dash from UV, keeps items from sliding (I never put items on the dash tho), and it holds a few morale patches for me. The anti-reflection was my main motivator for it!

It was going to be 3 weeks lead time for shipping but RCI is about 90 minutes drive so going to do a local pickup. I called and they said that may help the lead times as well.......I’m hopeful........

Lost a fob and my tailgate key. I can live without the second FOB but I will definitely have to replace the tailgate key. DAMIT!

Are you talking about the secondary tailgate key or the one that slides into the fob? There one in the fob also unlocks the tailgate.

I lost a Fob and the Tailgate key. I did not realize the Fob key would also open/lock the tailgate. I will try that in about 30 minutes. Thank you for that info!

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
I'm with you on the tinting, but hadn't considered an anti-glare film. I quick check of the 3M site says they make 4 different types. Know which make/type you're going with yet?

On tinting, one thing that really bugs me about other vehicles having really dark tinting (aside from nearly being t-boned, twice, by cars with dark-tinted windshields running red lights) is that I can't see what the hell the driver is up to. Example: I'm driving through town on a 2-lane street with a fair amount of traffic. A Suburban, with dark windows all around, edges out into my lane from a side street on the right and stops. Well, w.t.f? Are they looking to turn left? turn right? go straight across? (not everyone bothers with turn signals) are they yelling at the kids in the back seat? did they get an urgent text message? spill their Big Gulp in their lap? are they waving me to go around them? I can't see the driver or where they're looking, so it's a mystery. Just had to wait patiently for something to happen.

It's communication. On that same street is a 4-way stop that I would go through every day on my to/from work. When on my motorcycle, I would come to a stop and keep looking forward, using my peripheral vision to keep track of everyone else. I noticed that there seemed to be a bit more confusion whenever I was on the bike as to whose turn it was. I finally figured out that, since I wasn't looking at them, other drivers thought I was about to start into the intersection or something. From then on I would move my head and look at whoever's turn it was and the process moved along a lot faster. I was communicating that I was waiting for someone else.
