What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Pretty late to the thread but thought I’d should progress of where I’m at right now with the Tacoma. Before and after really.

 

I have the custom picture for the start up when the truck turns on but having it stay on while playing Sirius XM is next level stuff...how does one make that happen?

 

Tinted my windows and installed my new tires (265/75R16 KO2s).

 

Replaced my stock skid plates on my 2016 TRD OR with the TRD pro skid plate. Took about 1.5 hours, most of that time is just organizing tools and getting setup. Used my floor jack to position the TRD plate. No hiccups, simple job and set the torque according to the instruction sheet.

Needed to do this. I am off road every week and my truck is taking a pounding the 2+ years I've had it, 40,000 miles in 2 years, 10,000 of that is off road. I'm retired and spend all of my fun time in the bush, as remote as I can get. Don't need to or want to see any other trucks, humans, and especially no other fisherman.

Could care less about what it looks like, green with yellow polka-dots, who cares. As long as I get a bit more protection.

Finally got rid of my stock tires and wheels in favor of some Motegi mr150 in matte bronze with some 265/75/r16 Toyo A/T III

 

I went with Easy Eagle brand off Amazon.ca Because Canada. They are 3D Metal, couldn't be happier. Black letters for my Barcelona Red Taco.

 

Keep an eye on them. I bought the 4x4 trim piece in metal and it showed signs of corrosion in less than a year. I’ve changed it to an ABS plastic one. My TACOMA inserts are plastic as well and are holding up great. Nice truck.

 

Hey thanks, and thanks for the heads up. I will watch them for any corrosion, we get enough salt on our roads to preserve meat.

I would like to thank Raceline and BFGOODRICH for my wheels and Baja tires I got today than I painted them orange. This 37 inch set up is going to look good. Being a corporate ambassador priceless!

 

Installed a Taco Garage DSM today with the magnetic phone mount using thr short n stubby. Thr 1" ball is out of stock right now amd I didn't feel like waiting

How long did it take to get yours? I’m going on about 2 weeks now since I ordered.

 

Looks good and kudos for your DIY. The only thing I might have done is 45 the edges so they are not sharp.
