Off topic but thanks to all the firefighters out there. I believe I live in paradise but it was 120 degrees yesterday and a fire in the hills behind my house almost ruined my day. Suppose to return to the low 70s tomorrow and I no longer have to worry about the hills burning.

Is that the fire that is in the news, supposed to be started by fireworks at a gender reveal party?

I always specify that the seller NOT use UPS. They are highway thieves. I request USPS if at all possible but lately that has not been reliable either. I always try to find a product on EBay or Amazon 1st or even overseas as a last resort.

No, that was somewhere else. They haven’t said what touched this one off. Fortunately I live in an area of California where there seems to be a lot fire fighting planes readily available. They always seem to get to these fires quickly.

Thanks for that info. Just ordered one as well. Found a guy locally with a brand new one (short bed) still in the box. He wanted $120 for it. I told him I would give him $80 but he wouldn't budge. Thanks to your link mine is now on the way. Not that I can't afford it but as a matter of principle, I hate getting gouged on shipping!

Paying half of the sale price for shipping is definitely not something I'd do. I could afford to but yeah thats crazy dumb to do.
That coupon code is good on any items on the site.
I think a few others have made Good use of it.
Glad you got in it too.

Very cool mod. What would you do in the event of a solenoid failure?

Installed a Pioneer Subwoofer over weekend. Not big bass but enough to fill what was missing.

    Totally agree.

I am bookmarking that dealer and will plan on checking back there from time to time around the major holidays just to see if they have the free shipping promotion. I bet they do that regularly. The problem with a lot of these dealers is they try to make margin on both the actual product as well as some of the shipping. For example, some will just have Toyota drop ship the product to you -- and that way they pocket both the product fee plus the shipping fee. I also find that while Amazon has free shipping with Prime the prices are much higher than you can find elsewhere.

Wow. A lot of big dudes out there. Might explain the taco lean. Seriously, never had that issue but I have been around many who have and know it is a struggle. Stick with it and you’ll make your goal.

I found that dealership (passport) by going to parts.toyota.com and looking for the item I wanted and checking down the list of participating dealers near me. They had the best price with the free shipping offer.

I used Salinas Toyota in California for the bed light kit a few weeks ago when shipping wasn't free and I wanted it to go with my Tonneau cover. They had the best price and lowest shipping cost i found at the time from a link in another thread.

I'm with you on that. This time I assumed it would be USPS because it would be a small package but I assumed wrong! Recently with what's been going with USPS, sellers tend to not use them. Beware!
