What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I’m late to the party. Did this get resolved? Toyota might handle the warranty and services for you but ultimately that would be on Goodyear. My first call would be my dealer, they’ll either handle it or know what the next steps are for you.




But because it’s this thread, what I did today.... chrome be gone! Already took out the badges. Don’t have a chrome surround. I traded the tail lights so they’re a little shiny but not nearly as bad as stock (I think I traded with a 17 sport).

Happy with it. Hated the chrome. Considered the covers. Considered plasti dip. Went wheeling last weekend and backed into a wall and cracked the right one. Decision was made for me, 100 bucks later here we are.

whoever at Toyota decides to put those Two stupid push pins on the inside, I have a special message for you.



Now. All the YouTube guys who said “it was hard to hold a camera and do it but you just wiggle it in there, use a trim tool and those two just pop right out....



biggest pain in the ass. But worth it. No more damaged bumper cover and no more chrome.

 

Installed bed stiffeners. Been sitting on them for awhile.

 

Installed Ecoological bumper covers and seat leg covers. Removed cheap tape from seat leg covers and added 3M, also put on extra 3M on bumper covers.

 

Found a Pelican 1150 case fastened to the fuse cover panel with (2) 3" Velcro strips to keep all my onboard-air attachments. Thanks to Last Line Of Defense on YouTube for the idea

More progress on my amp/dsp rack. Tomorrow I'll put power to it and mount it. This weekend I'll tune it.

 

Im sure there’s a lot written up on this but now I’m a bit turned around...I’ve got 2020 Trd off road— was going to replace the fog bulbs w Optilux (hella) h11s and I pulled the bulbs out to find they are h16s. I thought the off roads were h11s...is the wiring/housing compatible? Don’t want to burn anything out.

 

There were threads of people trying to hook up Samsung quick chargers in that spot, but I don't believe anyone figured out how to do it. Most just plugged it in and taped it down somehow and called it good. I'm not a fan of that, personally.

Applied set of TVD flags. Not much of a “mod” but I like it.

 

Mine stock one won’t even work with my phone case. It gets hot and like barley even charges if it does at all.

 

Definitely a cool idea. What do you use to keep everything from rattling around?

 

Installed AMI Demon Brackets and painted my ARB shackles. I hope these can be used as recovery points since the sport has hooks used for transport tie downs.

How did you get the lenses on the lower driving lights tinted blue?

 

I have a piece of foam to line the bottom, but surprisingly enough, the stuff fits pretty tight in there.

 

yup, same with mine. It charges so slowly and in about 30 minutes overheats and starts blinking and stops charging. Pretty much useless

 

I bought a 3rd Gen today. Waited two weeks and so ready to start modding.

 

I emailed my local dealer about the bed mat for the long bed showing as no longer available and he responded back that he has no idea why as he has 2 in stock. He told me the price and I told him the price I could get it for shipped from oempartsource, so he matched their price with shipping. I picked it up same day. Basically I paid the same amount but didn’t have to wait for it to arrive.
I also added the the door lock covers. Not so sure if I like them or not, but they were cheap. Also added my cplay2air a couple days ago. Man I love this truck!

 

Nice truck!! Congrats. 2 weeks is the perfect amount of time. I mean.... things have to ship

 

Best mod ever! It makes a statement more powerful than a 6” lift!
