    Couple things.
A ladder angled from the bottom of the closed tailgate over the roof. Protects the cab roof. Lumber/planks too.
Stacking firewood above the side rails and against the cab, without shoving a blanket/tarp or cardboard in there to prevent damage to window or cab.
Moving large stuff. Use this to secure stuff and keep it from hitting the cab, again with no need for blankets, etc.
I will also be adding a shelf below and this will be a place to secure things that are sitting on the shelf.
Some folks, not me, add lights up there or antenna's.
It is handy without getting in the way.....in my opinion.
I will get some in use shots as I use it.

    those look good!

    1. how much did those cost you?
    2. is that black trim instead of the chrome trim the only difference between the two sets?

Do you think those brackets would be strong enough to hold the Hi-Jack above itself, rather than below it?

I'd like to make a similar bracket mount for myself, but I have a Decked system in the way on the below-side.

i ordered mine from Salinas Toyota for $135.68 a piece and free shipping. the free shipping is good till the 30th, so if you're interested best get on it. i saved a little over $56 in shipping.

here's the links for both tail lights:
    https://parts.salinastoyota.com/p/T...il-Light-Right--Rear/78761276/8155004230.html
    https://parts.salinastoyota.com/p/T...ail-Light-Left--Rear/78761516/8156004230.html

fyi: the promotion is good "only at participating dealers"

    free shipping.jpg

and yes the black trim is the only difference that i can tell versus the chrome ones...

not really sure, probably more satin?? the clear plastic lens makes it look shinier, imo...

Thanks. It is hard to tell from pictures. I was hoping maybe it would be easier in person.

I used to go to BAM for most OEM parts. I recently found www.oempartsource.com is usually the least expensive for oem parts.
