2 weeks ago. Received the title! Truck is paid in full. So I wanted to reward myself with a few little mods.

    10k maintenance last week.

Over the weekend, I have the truck a wash and wax. Used Chemical Guys and I gotta say I really like their jet seal and butter wax. No pics though. Maybe I’ll get some tomorrow. Their VRP seems work okay on my tires, it’s just a b**** with the wildpeaks, I’d imagine the same with any a/t tire.

Today, Installed some @MESO goods during my lunch hour.

I may swap to back to the black buttons.

Contemplating TT1 - but I want some black bezel tails first.

Ordered the Rav4 adventure emblem I saw another member on here install. Also, looking for the “4x4” I’ve been putting off for a while. If anybody is selling just the 4x4 I’ll take it off your hands. Send me a PM!

edit: credit to @TwinTaco31719 for the Rav emblem.

Newest version. If anyone wants one, let me know! You can use it to either be honest or ironic; works either way:bananadance:.

i've found it's kinda hit and miss who you buy from. sometimes one will be cheaper on one part, but other times more expensive on another. and then of course shipping varies a lot from one to the other too. pays to shop around...

They do look really nice :) I plan on upgrading to them. Also planning on do the BHLM, so figured I would try to make them close to the same sheen.

Wildpeak owner here.... I use a paintbrush to apply my tire protectant and immediate wipe up the excess to prevent drips. But the brush will get all the nooks and crannies that an applicator leaves high and dry.

I was actually tossing that idea around. I used the pads from chemical guys. I’ll have to try the brush next time.
    Thanks!

Made my own skid plate last week. High clearance up to bumper, Steel frame, 3/8" aluminum plate, bolt-on/removable with relocated factory tow hook (sawzaw'd off and welded onto new bolt-on mounting plate).

Bunch of small stuff. LED light bar switches (2), Zombie Light switch.

Thinking of going with the CaliRaised with the 4 tall on top, 3 small on the bottom. I think it fills out the area better instead of that current config.
    CaliRaised_Tall.jpg

The Qi charger button (for the center console Qi Charger) is now in - but I had to shave the sides because they key the switches - and I'd prefer it closer to me.

Thinking of getting the 2019 button console face so I can pull the single USB port and replace it with a Cell Booster switch. The 2020 has a small USB port with a small opening that I'd like to re-purpose for the cell booster switch.

I think it was specifically to do with the more common/popular Falken Wildpeak A/T3Ws, not sure about other tires from them. From what I remember the change happened around the spring of this year (March or May?) and affected how the tire performed in wet and winter weather. They may be riding the coattails of the high reviews on their initial releases and now making changes to cut costs (and increase profits presumably as I don't think it coincided with a drop in price or anything). The degradation in winter weather performance would be especially concerning to me being in Minnesota as I might be looking to run year round. I'm still debating about running winters again or just sticking to a good all season with "3-peak snowflake" certification, which the A/T3W had and was highly regarded on.
    • Here's someone talking about it in a non-TW forum.
    • Here's a link to a video on Toyo A/T IIIs where someone asked about comparing the Wildpeak A/T3W and the Toyo A/T III and if you look at his reply he said "If you would have asked me 6 months ago I would have said Falken in all areas is a better tire then the Toyo AT3, however Falken recently did a running production change and the tire rubber compounds are now "cheaper" The testing I did was way off the mark on the Falken and it was not even close to the Toyo AT3 now. I even double checked this finding with an older pre-change AT3W set, and yep completely different. It's crazy to me how companies like Falken can build great products and then change them to be garbage! I loved them and they were amazing in almost every category before.... don't waste your money now..... The Toyo is absolutely the way to go in comparison." (I looked and just realized that comment was posted just 2 hours ago - talk about timely! But it has been said before as well.)
    • Also think I've seen it mentioned elsewhere like reddit and here, but don't have links handy or anything, but the above was very easy to find.
Obviously I don't have them myself, so don't have personal experience, but can only go based off reviews and comments. But I'll be monitoring info about them, especially as winter hits us, to see how they hold up and if the rumors are true.

Luckily I am not in a rush and wasn't planning on swapping until at least spring. I will be putting whatever tires, likely in 265/70R17, I get on my T4R Pro SEMA 17" wheels and I'm not sure I want to run those through the winter yet, so waiting until after winter at least. The Wildpeak A/T3W was a front runner for my choice to get, based on price vs performance vs looks (yeah I'm a bit vain about it too, aren't we all here?), but now I'm highly reconsidering. At this point, I'm likely switching my first choice to the Toyo A/T III as they also have good winter, wet, and other performance while looking good. Not as cheap sadly though, but I'd rather pay a bit extra and get a good tire. The old stand-by KO2s are also an option, though winter (especially ice) performance is not rated as well on them, so I might only consider them if I for sure commit to running winter tires also.

You know, yours is the first truck with that decal/wrap on the tailgate that I think actually looks good. Must be the stormtrooper effect :)

Did you wrap the roof yourself? Was it difficult?
