What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

The Velcro strips are practically overkill. I have to press down in the fuse panel and rip off the box by the handle. I had to trim the Velcro quite a bit to get two 3" strips to fit, but it worked out great!

 

They can also act as the front half of a ladder/kayak rack.

 

Always thought it’s to keep things from flying through the back window if there was a head on collision and crushing your head...

 

1 hour of my time > $30 for prefabbed mounts

However, I will still take that hour to make a panel that bolts to my front seat mounts to hold a flashlight, and possibly a bar between the two little hooks above the rear window to mount a fir extinguisher (if it looks like they can support one)

I'm not retired yet!

When I was kid we had a place we called "The Farm" just up the road from Altapass on the Toe River between Frank and Minneapolis. The Christmas trees we grew there put my brother and I through college. Beautiful part of the country, I love them hills!

 

Yeah, that's the primary purpose and some are built only for that reason. Others like mine also serve as the front support to raise long stuff off the cab.

4" lift MAXTRAC Spindles, With the ICON Coilovers...Lifted the front end 5 1/2"...and a 4" Block on rear to level it. Looking at doing new Leafs to add lift and lower the block to 2"or so...
Anyone have any good recommendations for lifting Leafs?

Got 33's on it now! But have been thinking about 35's when these wear out! QUESTION IS:
My gas mileage is suck'n right now, how bad is it gonna be with 35"s?

Yea, I was kinda thinking that when I got em...But I wasnt ready to do the CMC and start cutting things at that moment!
But I'm with you on this one! The 35's would look better!

 

I’m on 33s and not loosing much. Are you compensating for that fact that you’re traveling farther than your odometer says you’re traveling?

 

Havent really done the calculations, but its only gonna be a couple of miles with the 33's. I get 12-13mpg on my dash readout.
Cant be much better than that? Guys here say their getting 18-20 and I'm sitting here going "LIAR"! LOL...I do kinda have a lead foot though

Thought about that...If I go 35's, what, 529's are being recommended? Thats $2000 + the Tires

 

the lift and larger tires definitely increase the wind resistance at higher speeds, however at lower speeds, you have a higher final drive ratio which in theory will actually give you better gas mileage. But then we can go into a discussion on added rotational mass and I sprung weight. Google search tire size calculator and take your pick. My Speedo was off by about 8 mph at speed. Those add up over the course of a tank
