Basically yes. I separated the chrome surround from the rest of the grill. It's really easy once the grill is off. I have an SR5, if that makes a difference I don't know.

Maybe I’m missing something. Don’t these reflective parts need to be on the doors if you want to them to be of use? Otherwise, the only time they are visible is when the doors are open AND obscuring light from reflecting off of them from an approaching cyclist or vehicle.

Like @Tamagotchee mentioned, the chrome trim comes off as a separate piece and no masking is necessary - at least on my 2016 OR. I ended up purchasing an SR Black Trim ring after plasti-dipping my original. I didn't get enough coats on the trim ring, but the piece behind the logo is holding up great. Check out the Dip Your Car YouTube page (DYC) for great advice for dipping. You probably need a light 1st/2nd coat, then maybe 4 more wet coats from what I remember. Below is the original plasti-dip, you can see a small spot on the lower left of the right where the black was coming off eventually.

Edit: I dipped the grill inserts on my BMW 440 and did more coats - it's holding up great.

I still have the old ring in the garage, if you want to see a photo of the back to see what the tabs look like; then I might be able to snap another photo.

Quick update on the bluing of keys. There just isn’t enough ferris material in the alloy keys for the blue to take hold. I will try again with aluminum black which should work much better. Updates will take a while as I need to order the chemicals.

How do I take just that chrome ring off? I’m assuming there is a tutorial/step by step webpage somewhere?

My Squareone Creations Frame caps went in like a charm. So much better than what was there.
Very well built. Here is a little before and after. They fit perfectly with C4 Fab Low Pro Bumper. I will have the install video up in the next couple of days. It took 2 minutes to install both sides. @RyanDCLB

I searched on YouTube but don't remember which video I used - if I find it, I'll post it. The finial pull is not quite as easy as some of the videos, you do have to pull a little harder than some suggest - I think they "practiced" to get a good video , but it's not very difficult to get things apart.

This video does not come from a very authoritative source and I wouldn't use it as a great HowTo, but it does show a lot of detail on what the tabs look like so you have a good feeling of what's going to hold things together. What they run into is pretty realistic and very similar to my experience as opposed to someone making it look too easy

I just added the N2 smartphone module to the N2 remote starter I had previously installed in my ‘19 TRD OR. Jimmy was so patient and helped me programmed the module. I’m so glad I went the N2 route. Thx again Jimmy!

    You are completely correct.
This also goes for the literal exact same purpose for doing this black out mod in the first place. The doors would have to open to even notice.
But does reflect from map lights in the dark vs having them just black so a minimal upgrade at best.
