Easy install - there is a video on the R4T page for the skids. A little different - they must have vehicle specific parts kits now so you don't get an extra bolt as shown in the video for a 4Runner application. Hardest part was removing the plastic cap on the front of the control arm to expose the forward hole - didn't have to remove a rear one. I did mine laying on the floor of the garage - easier if you have a lift but really just a 30 minute job at most and one person can do it easily.

I'll get pictures in the morning.

Yes, it's removable and I'll throw it on top. Just a experiment really. Another 7lbs I think lol. I think it will be cool to see how to attach it on the top, and still be able to carry stuff. I've been called Zim for decades. It's my last name, or part of it. Not a big secret really but it's room in German..lol

I am very happy with it. For whatever reason, I love the way the OEM rack looks. I think other racks look too “busy” for my taste. Not saying I don’t like the way they look, I just prefer the stowable crossbars. Most I will ever be hauling on it is a single kayak. I used boss products 315 silicon on each bolt. Applied under and over each “gasket” supplied. We use this stuff at work and I’ve never seen it fail.

Wife was already asleep when I finished the roof rack, so I took the opportunity to tint my 3rd brake light and reverse light sections. Now to do something about these headlights and fogs being the last bit of chrome.

Thats the biggest thing that I hate on my truck is the 3rd brake light. I have a orange truck and a "white" 3rd brake light just looks bad. They should of made it red/white cargo lenses from the factory. I say red/white over tinted because many times tinted brake lights are illegal.

Ive been waiting for a good price on a meso bd5 to pop up, but they are so few and far between.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
That Gas Hole fits tight enough that I think it would take a very long time for that to happen.

No night or dark pics for me. Yours looks great in the darker area.

Make sure u put some Teflon tape on the threads, mine leaked and didn’t notice until i noticed a musty smell, you could use thread sealant but Teflon was all i had at the moment and hasn’t leaked since

I used some good silicone sealant on every hole. Hopefully no bad luck.

The tint made it look much much better IMO. Way better than the “white” look. Didn’t do the best job. But I did gain a new respect for those who tint for a living.
