TRD Exhaust question- anyone have the TRD Catback? I put this on about a month ago. I would think the black chrome tip would last longer than a month. Is this the norm or is something wrong here?

After thinking about it, this is probably from saltwater coming off my tires at the boat ramp. Salt kills metal fast.

That don't look right. Had this on my upgrade list. Think I'll remove it for now. Thanks for posting this.

Appreciate the update. I've seen others that are more expensive but look more complete so based on your experience the others may be the way to go. Hope yours works out for you.

Thats seems to be the best route for 5100's when used with the OEM springs. The Eibach that come assembled with springs are side specific so I was thinking the spacer wouldn't be needed but I have one already just in case. Appreciate your input.

Appreciate the update. I was hoping that both sides would be identical without the 1/4" spacer on the drivers side since they are side specific. I already have the spacer in case I need it. Planning on the lowest setting as well. I've seen the install pics but would like to see a full side shot if you have one. Thanks

Just a quick key update. As expected, the Birchwood Casey aluminum black does a much better job on our alloy keys. This is after only 2 coats. Will do 4-6 total:

BTW, I have nothing against chrome, but IMHO it does not belong on Cement Grey, Army Green or Tan.

Now back to my rear camera relocation project.

Changed the oil. Got to say, having a fumoto valve makes changing the oil incredibly easy.

It’s not a coating, but a chemical change to the exterior layer of metal. The real advantage of this is zero dimensional change and you won’t “chip off” paint into your ignition, locks, etc. Just like gun blue, it will show scratches in the metal as the metal below the surface is a different color (in this case silver). But it also touches up very easily.

Edit: I will update with how prone to scratches the keys are, but until I get some “miles” on them, the unknown is part of the fun of being the first!

Like night and day. Add a @Jowett performance filter cap with the EZ Valve and they'll be the easiest oil changes you will ever do. Both of those along with a skid plate that has an access hole for the oil filter and an oil change takes about 15 min. and with no mess.
