Thanks for that. I'm still doing walk-arounds months after I built this thing. I'm also adding a dab of silicone to some places also. I do have some room so I'll add the bend. Great suggestion.

Thanks for the kind words and the link to the install thread. You can remove them, I'm not even really sure what they did in the first place. Yes, I started looking for something right away. I would love to find a plug that fits the opening. I'm thinking maybe someone can 3D print it for us. Currently on the hunt for something that fits. If I find anything I will let you know. Again thank you.

Try seller "dangoodbuy" on ebay. My source for plugs, bumpers, caps, ect., over 3500 items. If he doesn't have what you need he may know of someplace to source it. Good luck !

I had good luck dechroming and painting my cup holder trim. Shift boot collar came out terrible though

I can't find the post but somebody on tw a few weeks ago posted about buying a plug for this.
I can't remember where he got it but you oughta be able to find one here...https://www.mcmaster.com/end-caps/
You'll just need to measure it.

One magnet rated for 45 lbs. so I’m sure two will work just fine

With a caliper, the sleeve measures 1.53" x 2.64", so the closest cap I can find is this one. :notsure: It's Amazon, so I can always send it back if it doesn't fit. @ClassyTacos I'll send you the extra two caps if they do fit.

I pretended it wasn’t snow, but the aluminum shavings.... this made it much more palatable to my mind.

Do you have first hand experience with these? Do they feel pretty solid when installed? I know you are thinking, how could a hood strut not feel solid, but I have seen some pretty flimsy mounting brackets at my day job, so just figured I would ask. Are these the same ones on Amazon that you linked to on eBay? It appears so, but figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

Many of us have RedLine hood struts. Easy install and excellent performance along with excellent customer service.
Thought you might want to have another option available to you.

Fabricated two backstop brackets from Hillman P/N 853857 corner braces. They'll prevent the Extang Encore tonneau rails from sliding rearward when off-roading.

Discovered on the trail that the "QUhang" Chineseium breaker consistently trips at well under its rated current, rendering my compressor unusable. Replaced it with an Eaton P/N BP/CB185-100 breaker, and fabricated a bracket out of a Simpson P/N A88 angle tie.

Hope you got the problem resolved. Got mine from the dealership and all the hardware and brackets were included. They should take care of this for you.
