Yeah wife nixed that idea, she likes the OEM. But she approved the winch, and helped with the install, so there's that.

@Kenstogie Which glove box organizer did you use? I've a 2021 rig and the Salix/OCD organizer was about 1/2 inch too deep (i.e., too big) on the RH side. Or did you shave yours down?

Believe me, I completely understand keeping the wife happy. Even still she sounds like a keeper if she is helping with the mods/upgrades.

Hope everyone stays safe down there! We just went through a week of -30F up here, but our infrastructure is equipped for it, hopefully it’ll be a short lived event.

Go CERT! (Member of two CERT groups and supervise comms in one of them)

Here in the PNW, we just got out of the snow and ice. Left work early to throw my generator and tools into my rig and went to rescue my 96 y/o house-bound dad. It was 54 degrees in his place. He has a gas fireplace that requires sparky to work. Started the generator, ran to power lines, and we got the place from 54 to 63 when the utility company brought the power back online. Left my gear there with instructions for my brother on how to start it again should the falling branches bring the powerlines down again.

It's nice to have the gear and the rig to haul it.

I will keep an eye out for you, I love the Quicksand color so I usually notice them anyway.

If radioqth is right, I should become W5DFZ tomorrow. But today I’m still KI5NFY. I may have to bug you about the K5PRK repeater that I can hear but can’t seem to transmit on.

Lol... considering I get the munificent mil pay and she makes high level GS13-14(equiv) pay.. I'm lucky she keeps me around. :p She also likes to drink and shoot (not at the same time, obv). We matched up awesomely.

True that. Luckily we had no issues besides power hiccups (our lines are buried in my area) but we have solar and a couple of batteries around just in case.

Perhaps. They may have designed the rack with the forward-placed antenna as an example...and then Toyota moved it back.

At 4:35AM lost power here in Houston. Weather says its 14 deg and wind chill is 3 deg. Well hell, went and started the taco got my 50' cord,
plugged it in and ran the cord into the living room and put on a surge protector plugged my laptop, one lamp and my Tv. Life is good.

I read this a few other places too. Yeah - the chinesium models sit a bit taller. You would think Toyota could figure this out.

You gotta watch the original TV series, Police Squad!, if you've never seen it.

Even if you have, you should watch it again.
